    Hi James,
As a result of the product having been discussed here on FChat, I tried and have stuck to GM Synchromesh on the Ferraris.
Although eyebrows were raised at the shop at my request and supplying of the oil, my personal experience has been the ability of the gearbox to go from 1st into second: predictably and effortlessly in the Mondial, and almost so in the TR -as compared to the action with the previous oil.
Even in single digit Lake Erie region winter days, the Mondial gearbox demonstrated the ease of shifting into 2nd.
    Best to you.

If you use the search function you will find 100 threads on gear oil for TR's.
You need to finish reading the threads you have already started, the answers are there.

The synthetic is not too thin. IT'S THE SECOND NUMBER YOU NEED TO LOOK AT, 75/90.
If it's a full synthetic you can run a lighter weight. It flows better when cold and maintains it's viscosity at high heat better than Dino based oils.
Changing oil in your transaxle isn't going to magically create squealing bearings because it's 5 points lighter than the what you had in there before. You have something else going on in there.

BTW, I run Redline 75/90NS in my transaxle and shifts better than before. It shifted good when it had Shell in it to begin with. I used it in my 308 with great results as well.

I also run Redline 15/40 in the engine and as I said before It maintains it's viscosity at high heat better than Dino based oils. Being a lighter oil it is better than the heavier stuff at the lower temperatures that I drive my TR. 40 to 60 degrees ambient outside temps often.

The synthetic 40 weight is still heavy enough for the highest heat my engine might experience. The molecules "chain up" better than Dino oil and give better protection.
