Does the testatossa have a pcv or similar? My car started whistling on cold start up for several minutes… coming from the front of the engine… ‘Any help appreciated…
Yes and no, it has a PC system (i.e., Crankcase Emission Control System), but it works all the time, and doesn't have any sort of PCV valve. If it consistently goes away when the water temp gauge always reads the same value of about 160 deg F = I'd suspect something in the air injection system (which is "on" below that coolant temp and "off" above it). To rule it in our out quickly, just unplug one of the wires from the coolant thermoswitch (on the LH side of the water Y-pipe) simulating a warm "open" coolant thermoswitch when it is whistling (and the water temp gauge is at something like 140 deg F) -- if the whistling goes away = strong sign it's something in the air injection system.
‘Thanks! May not have a chance to try this today, will try next weekend! I guess these cars are getting to an age where gremlins are starting to show up…
