Hi A question to TR owners about fitting new tyres. Does the old valve stay in (Original wheels off course) as it looks to be a permanent fixture with a nut on a thread? Also a big thankyou for all you who gave me advice on replacing tyres, In the end I ordered from the Tirerack and i'm in the UK. Excellent service and price too. Yes, the main body of the valve stem need not be removed from the wheel for new tires. It is probably a good idea though to replace the internal Schrader valve occasionally (a good shop would do this -- especially if they leave the charge for 4 "new" valve stems on the bill that you never actually receive ).
