    Hi all,

Has anyone PPF'd a Testarossa? My '85 is off to be detailed soon and I'm considering getting it protected straight after - I just wondered how the side strakes would be dealt with!!

It would be best to have them removed so they can ppf the door and then each individual strake. I have removed them for detailing and it makes a huge difference.

Wouldn't risk PPF at all? Just accept stone chips and respray as required? That is indeed an option.

Good idea - a pain to do though, but yes I can see the logic. Thanks.

Thanks, I had my suspicions and partly the reason for the Post! It means I can throw a good chunk of cash into the engine bay now, rather than on shrink wrap!! definitely going to remove the strakes for the Detail though, as per MobileJay's comment.

Make sure it is someone that is experienced in doing this. Those can be delicate and you have to remove the door panels and panel in front of fire wall to get to the screws.

Understood, very wise words! - should be OK though, I recently had the cards off as I stripped and rebuilt both window winder mechanisms and motors, the windows now go up and down like a...well, they go up and down quickly!! :) Had a look at the strake fixings at the time.

    Cheers.
