This has been on Autrotrader here for awhile: 1985 Ferrari Testarossa Flying Mirror - Etobicoke (autotrader.ca) I don't like the steering wheel and the rims.

https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/l-Used-Ferrari-512TR-d1825#listing=301058211 Anyone know this car? I know that it was at Mecum Houston and was bid to $220k in April. I am considering checking it out....I have been waiting for a white one to pop up for quite some time since I blew an opportunity summer 2020, but no luck....so I may need to start broadening my search.
I had the opportunity to test drive a F8 Tributo recently (and a fantastic car by the way). I was offered the opportunity to take the driver's seat but as not being familiar with paddle-shifters, opted to take the passenger seat initially. Anyway, upon first seeing the storage shelf behind the seats, my first thought was of my Testarossa. When I took over the driver's position, the cockpit arrangement was roomy, the view (to quote Doug DeMuro), was like a go-cart. So again, my mind said this is so much like my Testarossa. It just needs four more cylinders. The drive was easy, effortless....no forcing the shifter, no wrestling with the lack of power steering, no..........(unlike the Testarossa, as we all know) and somewhat lacking. Almost like Sim racing. So for that in-control, visceral feeling connection, I very much get it why the older Ferraris are sought after. At a recent Cars and Coffee, there was a constant group of people around my TR - male and female. I let a fellow drive it (I got to drive his Porsche 977 as well). We both lost our virginities that way (he had never driven a Ferrari and me never a Porsche) LOL. Anyway, long story short, these cars are so iconic. Love them or hate them, you can't ignore them. And that is why the values (in my opinion) are rising.
I hope so it can not be that a normal 6 cylinder ferrari road car ( 246 ) will be more worth than a testarossa ! ! !
agreed. here is another anecdote for you all..... last weekend was the Ferraris and Fighters event in Houston. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/ferraris-and-fighters.641950/ there were about 40 ferraris there ranging from a BB all the way to an F40, but mostly younger modern cars. at the request of the local fca pres, i entered my 512tr so that we could show his early tr, my 512tr, and another member's 512m, as the full range of the tr series. the show also had many ww2 era warplanes on display and giving flying demos. the show was open to the public and a few hundred people came to see it all. each car had a dash card with a QR code and a request for votes for 'people's choice' i spent quite a bit of time talking to people who passed by our trio of tr's to explain the design and technical evolution of the series, which was enlightening for all of them. at the end of the day, my 512tr won 1st place in the people's choice award ! 2nd was the F40 and 3rd was the F8 tributo. imagine that !!!! so what this tells me is that for people who dont really know ferraris as intimately as we all do, the tr design is iconic, and more popular than the modern cars. sure they are cool and fast and swoopy and full of tech, but they are obviously not capturing people's imagination like the older cars.
i think u are correct .they look amazing a strong statement on the road, they drive grea,im surprised they havnt yet but i agree with you 200k tr sold number is comming 512 tr will hit 300k plus
I guess if a Dino can, so can a 512tr! I have never driven a Dino, can anyone give us some insight? Besides being pretty, what do they have to offer?
Said it before... but it is worth repeating: There will NEVER be another mid-engine 12cyl Ferrari with significant production numbers. Likely, never a low production halo car as well. The tr is a pinnacle for Ferrari.

Then a lot of people will have a good laugh like the guy that paid $241k for a rather ordinary gated 430. Everything is up, somebody paid $400k for an early gated Murcielago (low miles but still), it wasn’t even a gated LP640. I wouldn’t buy anything in this market unless money was no object (which would be never for me).
I would be surprised.....anyone else remember guys paying $500k for an F1 599 when they first came out? Or what happened when Enzo passed away?
