Rosso Barchetta was not available on the 75 US models. Along with the side markers, this is obviously a euro/asia car.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

    Nat,

I am 100% certain this is my ex- car. I sold it via RM Sotheby's in the London Auction on the 7th September 2016. I wrote much of the auction description myself (which the dealer selling the car has chosen to copy verbatim in a few spots!). It has the exact km, same colour, and on and on. The car was (is) an amazingly preserved car, which is exactly why it did not suit me. I am a driver, not one to have something just for display. The car was so perfectly preserved that I knew it needed to remain that way, and so sold it on. The person who purchased the car is a member here on F-chat, but prefers to keep a low profile.

I will say two things about this car. First, the paint on this car was not very good rom the factory. Lots of runs and orange peel. The second, is that the transmission in this car was absolutely, without a doubt the smoothest, most perfectly shifting Ferrari I have ever driven!! It was like butter, even when cold in winter.

As I previously mentioned, I am very happy to add any information for a prospective buyer. Feel free to contact me by PM.

    Kind regards

Great story!!! I’m not sure they get 500k for it though, but in this market you never know!

I agree with EZORED...looks rather shabby for only 11k miles. I remember driving 15 hours to look at a 1986 TR in Missouri, the seller claimed 17k original miles. When I saw the car in person, it looked like it had been pulled out of a swamp! Oh yeah...17k miles might be accurate, but sheesh! This car on BAT looks like it's been repainted, but I've heard that from folks that sold Ferraris back in the day say that factory paint jobs could be pretty bad too. Clearly this BAT car was not loved and cherished.

Its easy to double the lock up of the stock diff without buying any parts if you really wanted to. Paul and I have discussed it and think its a bad idea. It would make the car very tail happy and I think on a wet road it would be a serious mistake.

While looking at the car chase I was telling myself: « …that TR probably got a diff upgrade… » Lol…
And then at the end: «…probably needs a paint job and a major now…just for start… » Lol again…

I wouldn't consider that a driver's quality car. It needs attention to be safe. You can drive these cars without that much neglect.

Thanks, yes I have had a good look there. There are a number of cars with 15-30k Miles that have sold for around $90-$100k.

Which is great, the thing I am trying to work out is what cars with higher mileage / some paint or service work needed, what are they selling for? (and where do I look for them).

    Cheers

    Stewart

So that interesting dual flying mirror on BAT went to 113+5=118k, no sale….
I think they should have accepted it. Sort of tells me had it been cleaned up, 1 mirror, this is 130k.
