Ah ok. I was hoping the service paperwork was posted online. I wouldn't let that car scare you. That isn't the norm at all. I went through every system on my car myself. I'm a drop in the bucket compared to that bill.
Based on this should be good. "Major engine-out belt service conducted in January 2025 by North Coast Exotics Inc." https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/north-coast-exotics-for-ppi.559421/
Been working on these since new and have had one for 20+ years. TR suffered from a reputation of being expensive to own since new and the internet has just made that situation worse. The fallout from that is shops are very eager to make the cars live up to that reputation and no one questions it. Mine is exceedingly well taken care of and it takes very little to do so. I have an advantage. We got it with 1000 miles so it has never been a subject of bad work or bad ownership. Euro cars have never had equal value here.
Another nice one - incidentally an LFSC car as well https://www.goodingco.com/lot/1986-ferrari-testarossa-1a/
I’m starting to consider purchasing a Testarossa since it’s been a dream car of mine for, oh, ever!. I love my 308 and would like to add the TR to the stables eventually. What a great source of info this thread and this forum has been on them. Lots of mechanicals and common issues worth researching.

Wow! I have a Testarossa, a spectacular Testarossa, but your black/red TR might just be the nicest one I've ever seen. Congratulations! Please drive it! If people see that car out in the wild demand for the model will skyrocket
A nice black ‘87 with a fresh belt service just sold for 142 plus commission on BaT. It seems prices are coming down.
Paperweight. You can buy a 1/8 scale model that will serve the same purpose for under 1 thousand dollars.
Apologies for the lack of context, but why is it that Euro cars are valued at less ? Not looking to sell mine(!), just curious ;-)) 12 years ago when I imported my 911 from the US into Switzerland, it was the other way around.
One of the main reasons is that its difficult to register a Euro Car in California. But having owned a Euro 512TR and Euro Diablo SV, I would never intentionally get a USA spec again.
I'm the buyer. Since missing out on a lovely Blue Sera monospecchio a few years ago, I've been following the market. I *still* think these cars are undervalued despite evidence to the contrary. Didn't want to miss out on this car - driver, black/tan, wheels. Definitely more interesting than the 456 I was considering.
Congrats on the great purchase! Would you be willing to share with us the total of all fees that were associated with the BaT auction? I've always wondered what the "out the door" costs are that must be added to the final auction price. Thank you.
https://bringatrailer.com/how-bat-works/ Sellers pay a $99 listing fee, with the option to add our Plus photo service for an additional $330. There are no other seller fees on BaT. Buyers pay a 5% fee on top of the final sale price to BaT, with a minimum of $250, and capped at $7,500 (€7,500 for EU bidders and £6,000 for UK bidders).
