Seller was also honest about it needing service soon. "A $19k service was performed by Brian Crall in 2012, and in addition to the requisite belts, hoses and seals, included a new differential carrier, clutch assembly, and suspension bushings. This service was performed 900 miles ago, and the seller recommends a service in the near future based on time."
Thats an awful lot of money for a car with miles and no service; definitely a good sight for those believing and hoping prices will go back up. Color and single mirror has to have a lot to do with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
FANTASTIC blue car!! VERY well presented with tons of paperwork and many many pictures. That is how a car should be sold!!
I agree bought mine with service records luggage with covers and seat and car covers well worth the extra coin
I am seeing high prices for the 512TRs but not seeing anything being sold at the prices being asked on a regular basis. Just curious if the prices are really going up?
'93 Black/Black 512 TR at dealer in US. 27,000 miles. Last service 2013 at 26,000 miles. Ad sounds like the car could use a little TLC. Asking $169,000 which I think is a recent low for a US dealer. http://www.autosportdesigns.com/inventory/stock/3329/ferrari-512-tr-1993
My assumption is prices on 512TR’s are going down along with the TR. Anyone wanna guess where they all stabilize?
Black/Tan '88, sold for $85,000 plus 5% commission. 29,000 miles, major service done in 2016. I think this is correct for the market today. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1988-ferrari-testarossa-7/
I went and saw the car: needs a paint job AND a major. Decent car though. A 150k car tops with a major included. Drives well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
so after paint job and major and little things pop up ur looking at close to 180/190k even purchase price of 150k?
I would say 170k. They are easy on negotiation it seems and can do. Inhouse the major. I m not sure it needs a full respray; jus the hood. And some scratches. A drivers car, sound mechanically but not classiche material Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
so in ur opinon one in excelent cond low miles records etc 200k ? imo tr is the best buy comapred to the 512
Low miles as in sub 12-15 k miles is definitely at 180-200k. MG in ohio had that red one at 177k Their black one is still for sale. I think u can get a nice one with 30knmiles in the 145-150k, but few and far between are available. Patience seems to be a virtue Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
so agree the cheapest exotic will have the biggest repair bills im sure some have learned the lesson the hard way
Completely agree. I totally learned the hard way, and I thought I would know better by currently owning another Ferrari. Sourcing parts for the TR has been challenging and expensive.
My ‘86 TR had a lot of aftermarket parts that I have been trying to bring back to original. So far this is what I have had to source: Original steering wheel Door sills with rubber inserts - still searching for right side panel and left side insert Center control panel Instrument pod Upper dash panel (underneath windshield) Center console panel Door gaskets (flocked) Door pocket Fuse board Exhaust ECU Cover underneath steering column - still searching (‘86 version) New wheels (single lug that would go over upgraded Brembos brakes, fortunately found by a Fchat sponsor) All this plus over $30k+ spent on fixing stuff and getting a full engine out service. Car runs like a dream now.
