I have found a car that is in decent shape, runs and the interior is all there and in good shape. Paint is 7/10 but a good cleanup would probably make it an 8/10.

I think I might be able to buy the car very cheap.

Lets say I have to do a major service and a few other things.

it is a repo with no service history. That doesnt mean nothing has been done but obviously I assume nothing has been done. I know how quickly things can become a money pit

Own quite a few cars and an offshore boat so no stranger to maintenence bills and to high performance stuff but never owned a ferrari.

    Car is white/tan.

Any advice? I am a Miami Vice fan and an 80's fan lol. I wouldnt buy one for 50-60 grand to be honest but if the car is all there what do you think my worst case scenario is, provided the motor is good and checks out with a leakdown test.

    Any advice is appreciated.

Make your decision AFTER the car has been through a Pre-Purchase Inspection by a mechanic that is well versed in TR's.

Review the list of needs and add up the cost to bring the car up-to-date on maintenance.

Only then can you (or anyone) make an educated decision on whether to buy.

There is a very string possibility that you will find that buying a TR for 50-60 grand will put you ahead of the game rather than playing catch up with a victim of deferred maintenance.

In the words of others, " The most expensive Ferrari you can buy is a cheap one"
    An undeniable truth.

I agree with the most expensive being a cheap one (like offshore boats..which make Ferrari's look like a maintenence dream) but for once I might be on the inside of a deal lol. I cant go into too much detail but my actual cost on this deal could be very low since it would factor in services by my own company as well.

This is a unique opportunity for me.

I plan on having a guy look at the car who is supposedly one of the top independant guys around.

I guess I we will just see what he says and see if his #'s add up to about where I want to be at the end of the day with a car that has been brought back into proper condition and if that is right I can make an offer I am comfortable with and walk away if that doesnt get the deal done.

    Dear Ferraristi,

What's the asking price on it?

    Year?

    Mileage?
