I am creating a new thread as this is not ECU related but most likely a false contact at the “mouse”
My seat belt light starting to come on and off sporadically, now I’ve noticed it is a false contact (or at least that is my best guess)
Anyone has an idea to how to fix this? Maybe there’s a micro switch or a way to tighten the “mouse” up??
Here’s a video to show what I mean
    Thanks in advance

Signed in to learn about mouse belts. Mine occasionally acts up and has to be manually pulled back… though it retracts no issues…

I basically read all mouse belts threads before posting a new one, most of the times the symptom is a warning light and the culprit is the ECU and the easiest solution is disconnect the battery to reset them and/or swap them to see if the light moves to the other side.
Regarding a mechanical issue the best thread around with pictures and instructions by Jeff (raysur) and part numbers by Steve M is
    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/how-to-fix-the-mouse-belt.634953/

My issue most likely is the switch at the B pillar, I just don’t want to start taking things apart before knowing I would be able to source a generic switch or fix the one that is there, cause I believe that switch is not sold separately, it is part of the whole mechanism, which is expensive and hard to find too.

to add to this thread, cause there’s some threads that owners have been able to (even recently) get the mechanism replaced by Ferrari due to the recall
    https://auto-recalls.justia.com/ferrari/testarossa/1988/03v142000/
I called Ferrari NA today just out of curiosity and they said my car had the recall done in 2003 and they consider that recall null and void now due to time, of course calling NHTSA might help twist their arm and get it fixed for free as a goodwill in case the whole mechanism stopped working, of course in my car it is just a warning light and it is not a safety issue, but some owners might be dealing with inoperative belts.

If somebody found a way to fix this B pillar switch without replacing the whole mechanism, I would really appreciate his input.

Ok I fixed it, thanks to Jeff (Raysur) he told me how to tackle this without removing trim pieces or disassembling.
The issue was somehow the switch was kind of in the limit of being activated and just a little bit of play would create the disconnection, never happened before and I have no idea why now it is like this, I tried to adjust the switch to make it tighter and all efforts were futile, the only way to fix was to extend the fork so the mouse would push it more downwards, so I glued a piece with super glue to extend the fork (used my driver license to avoid getting super glue elsewhere and create a mess) and now the light is gone even by wiggling it by hand. Thank you very much Jeff I wouldn’t even done it if you didn’t show me where the switch was. I thought it was inside the mechanism.
