James, I had Prestige charge me over $800 in labor to recover my instrument pod in my old TR. They said they had to remove the dash. Now I know they, removed the steering wheel and removed the pod with 3 small bolts......and ripped me off. Plus the leather they used didnt match the grain pattern of the dash. Live and learn.

The TR seats are no more complicated than any other seat of the era. In fact they are more simple than almost anything that is made today. Any competent interior shop will be able to do the job. I would suggest sending a leather sample you supply by taking a snip from under the seat and sending it to World Upholstery or Gahh. When you get the seat kit back, remove the seats and take everything to your shop. Easy Peasy.

I just used a shop on Van Nuys Blvd to recover a seat bottom on my vintage MB. I took the seat in separate from the car as I didnt want to get ripped off (nicer car the higher the price). He knew exactly what kind of car the seat came from the second he saw it. $300 for labor and the correct perforated leather. Perfect in every way. Advanced Auto Upholstery is their name.

The hardest part is getting the color right. Hopefully the leather supplier will be able to color match from the sample you supply. The stock color will vary from dye lot to dye lot and differ from age.

    Hope this helps.
