Yep....very loud indeed! The tone isn't real deep, nor is it high. The throttle response is very quick. I don't think just open headers would be the best way to go, you would at least want some pipes out the back.

So many tracks have noise restrictions in California I would muffle it. At Sears and Laguna many stock Ferraris will not pass the sound regs.

    Dear Ferraristi,

When I changed my clutch, I had the car on the jack stands with nothing after the headers.

I started it to test the clutch and it................freaked me out! WOW...what a beast! I never realized the sound the Testarossa makes without the muffler. At idle it just had a mean spitting sound. When I pulled the linkage on the throttle bodies, the bite was incredible. The OEM muffler surrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre does a good job of muffling everything down to the tune of a Honda... :D

    Hey Shamile,

With all the work you've done to your TR (I have gone through considerable popcorn watching your top-end refurb!), what exhaust are you running?

    Cheers

PS - my apologies to the OP for the minor hijack infringement.

    Dear Ferraristi,

Well, I have two very jealous women in my garage. Everytime I want to buy my Testarossa something, my Lamborghini gets pouty and demands a new pair of high heels....or she won't put out. So while my TR is a sexy girly...my Lamborghini is a nympho. Soooo, she comes first. :D

....I still have the stock exhaust on the TR. I keep spending money on boring stuff like hoses and Fpimp parts....

Don't forget to save some money in your budget for a one piece forged differential carrier. You'll need it if you run that car hard. (Ask William H how the Diff in his 512 held up.)
The last ones Newman had were going for about 3500.00 each..
Hopefully he started another batch this winter.
