I really like the design and grip of the original Testarossa steering wheel. (MOMO Gritti?)
So I'm considering to replace my 328's steering with it.
Has anyone fitted a Testarossa steering on a 3x8 before?

There are a few questions about it.
    1) Is there a difference in diameter between the original 328 and TR steering? (328=320mm?, TR=360mm?)
    2) Is the Griiti pattern steering used on Mondial QV similar to the TR's?
    3) Is a TR steering wheel interchangeable on 328?

Funny you should ask. When I bought my current 328 back in '03, it already had a Testarossa steering wheel installed. It's a direct swap. I only changed it because I love the look of the 328 wheel better. It was actually nice to drive with the TR wheel though.

    Here's a pic.

    Augustine, Fernandel,

    Thanks for the photo.
Gives me a good image of how it would look on my car. I like it! :)

Did you notice a difference in size compared to the stock 3x8 steering?

I don't know the exact size but I'm fairly certain the TR wheel is a larger diameter than the stock 328 wheel. It definitely felt different. I wish I hadn't sold that wheel years ago. It would be cool to swap back and forth from time to time.

    Thanks Augustine.
I am even more convinced by how it should look on my car, but I'm still worried a bit about the size difference, the effect it may have on the drive...
Well, I may just have to give it a try and decide...

I think it actually helps. The larger steering wheel seemed to help with low speed weight in the steering, from what I recall. Try it and see what you think.

Can someone verify the Testarossa wheel diameter? I bought a wheel last year that was said to come out of a Mondial. I only jumped on it because I knew it was actually a Testarossa style and I've been after one for years for the right price. But I'd like to verify it by size. I bought this wheel for super cheap. I ended up putting it in my imported Toyota Soarer as I figured what the hell. Let me use it for a bit before storing it with my other wheels. As mentioned before, the grip on this wheel feels so nice. I love the thin and somewhat boxy grip of the wheel. The diameter is a bit on the larger side, it does take a certain way to slide in and out of the car. I may swap it for a Nardi classic when car season starts again.

This is the closest feeling I'll get of a Testarossa for now. Lol
