I saw a Testarossa Targa this weekend while attending some evening shenanigans at the Superbike races at Mid Ohio. I never see these mentioned here although I don't know much at all about them. This was an 87 according to some one near by. Could this have been a factory targa or was it converted? It was pretty tacky looking with the Ostrich leather seats but hey it wasn't mine so who am I to judge. Thanks.

Yellow with the wacked out interior?

Probably the one that was on EBAY awhile back. Not a factory job.

That black TR is now owned by one of my customers, and formaly owned by another one of my customers, who is also a memeber of this web sight. I did a full engine out service on that BEast and then had it tuned on the dyno. The interior was all redone, and the paint was wet sanded and buffed. It look really good now.

But talk about a FAST car..insane, I have never experianced anything like this thing in my life. I'm scared of the car to put it bluntly. I have never had the nuts to shift it in to 4th under full throttle...3rd is enough for me!!

    Still Ostrich?????

There was actually plans afoot to try to sell ostrich in lieu of Conolly Leather because of the mad cow thing, I read.......

Would have worked here where we all have ostrich boots I suppose.

No, it was linked to the destruction of the British cattle that were then burned, so yielded no leather. I don't know if that's why Conolly went under though.

The deal was the English leather had fewer marks in it from barbed wire, like we use down here to keep the lil' critters off the roads.

Of course an ostrich is not exactly a socially pleasant animal to deal with either! LOL!

That sure looks like the one I saw, but it was dark and I could not see the dash. The interesting thing to me is that car domain site says the guy lives in Chesterland, which is where I grew up, and is 2 hours from where I saw the car. I saw a 25th ann Lambo in the same parking lot last year and I remember the guy saying he had a Ferrari but there is no way it is from Chesterland. He also owns the shop that it was parked in front of and does alot of import tuning. He had one of his little honda disciples, that sounded like Forest Gump, keeping an eye on the car. It is a shame that someone like that is allowed to own such a fine car. Thanks for the info I didn't think it was a factory car.

Guys on cardomain.com are a mess. 99% of the time, they don't own the exotics they claim to, so that probably explains it.

OK, I'm gonna put my head into a noose with this one, but I like the first one.
The black TR with the Targa.
I always prefer the GTS lines on the 3 series, but I have no problem with that black TR targa.

Hi Allan, Conolly actually used deer hide during the mad cow disease episode.

NNO, the yellow Testarossa Targa was built by a company called Ultrasmith, NY. The serialnumber is 69005. Don't know about the black one though ...
