Testarossa - TR 512 parts difference ?

    Does anyone know if any parts ( body or mechanical ) are interchangeable between a Testarossa and a TR512 ?

    I have a 91 Testarossa, and according to the service and parts departments, there are plenty parts that are from the 512tr. As for the body, I would imagine that there are even more common parts, as they are largely the same. The front bumper is different, partially due to different air in-let for the AC and front brakes. The engine cover and the rear bumper is also different, I think that is about it.

    Many parts should be interchangable, except I would imagine the rear suspension may be very different as that is where the greatest change between the 2 cars exists.

    I agree. The suspension and engine mount is obviously different, as the Testarossas have a sub-frame to allow engine to drop right out for service ease. The 512trs on the other hand, does not have a sub-frame. Their engines has to come out from the top. But the engines themselve should share a fair amount of hardwares between the the Testarossa line.

    The subframe I believe is different, with the 512TR having the engine sit a bit lower.

    Are you guys sure about a lot of interchangability? I'm having a flashback that when the 512TR was introduced F touted that, although they looked very similar, on the 512TR 85% of the components were "new"?
