Your artistry is awesome, thanks for the images. One thing to consider though is you are drawing a jet or thrust engine. I have an actual turbine which converts the gases into rotational force thru a gearbox, it does not use thrust like you picture it. The "tailpipe" will be coming out of the top of the deck. Size each 6X8 and extremely low profile. What you have drawn though gives me pause for consideration for another project [grin]
Thanks Jim. I went to the site and it is full of information. I will contact Lenny Thanks Again, Craig
Ohhh...I feel like an idiot. Sorry for not researching more. I heard of people putting in helicopter engines into their cars. I didnt realize the ROssa is a similar deal. Hmm....how should the body me alertered to address that?
Absolutely correct for a D1 course, but not applicable for a death spiral. DS's just require one throttle position: full.
This is pretty insane. Good luck! Do you think it will be ready by the 15th of September? I'll be in the vecinity then, and I'd like to take a look at the car. Jim
As promised, some updated pictures of the project. We received the machined steel mounting parts Friday. We have mounted the crash box transmission and mounts and are working on mounting the carrier bearing supports for the drive axles. The red line you see in the images is our crude but effective laser system for indexing the stubs and alignment. We are within 20 thousands or so Many thanks to Joe at Mendol Marine for his TIG welding. Mine welding is the crap stuff not yet ground out. More tommorrow, hopefully Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Craig, I envy and respect you in taking on this turbine project! I think it is proper to say, More Power to You!!! Ciao...Paolo
How about an above roof intake scoop like the Diablo GT or the Saker ? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Turbines are an easy set up in a boat. The biggest issue is cooling the exhaust. These are T-53 Lycomings which are turbo shafts. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
How about some veyron-esque scoops? Keep the rear glass and be able to see out. (sorry for the enormous picture)
Best project ever.. can't wait to see it roll down the street because it'll actually sound the way a TR looks! (if that makes sense)
I LOVE IT!!!!!! holy-cow!!!! Why in the heck haven't I seen. Good grief man. This is just GREAT!!!! Once this thing is done you MUST post a video of it being driven around.
