Looks the same as the sample I have Phil. I pulled back the joined top corner and let this lay back into the car and tried the sample, but see how you go.
Will do... we are waiting on Phil in the UK.. He is getting a sample and will see if this will work.. If it is a go we will get enough for everyone.. We should all thank Phil for doing some leg work here.. R
I just hope it is not so rounded.. It looks oblong in the photo (on the web site) Your replacement looks very round.. Lets see.. R
While I am waiting.......... just take a look at the image I posted. It has a a small "buffer" at the internal top section that should hold the fixed part higher off the joint so while the 'seal' part may be smaller in diameter, it should be in the correct place. I know my original Ferrari seals after 22 years have compressed so even a newer smaller part should do a better job. Anyway, I will be patient and wait for postie to drop the part through my letterbox. As soon as that happens I will post up some photos. Phil
I am still waiting delivery. I believe there are some UK postal system disputes. I wonder if this is what is holding things up? P
Sorry chaps but the UK postal system seems to have gone t1ts up and I am receiving sporadic mail at best. As soon as said part arrives I will post up photo details. Sorry to be the bearer of poor news. Phil
Mr. C, Could you please post the company contact info? Also the part number for this weatherstripping would be handy. Thank you, Kerry
For sure... just making sure with Phil that it is the right stuff before I post.. I have full intnetions of posting the place, address and phone number.. I just want to make sure it is the right stuff.. R
Mr. Chairman, Do you happen to know if your source in UK also has other rubber trim parts available? I would much like to replace the passenger side door gasket (the rubber blade running along the top edge of the window frame, #61548500). Thank you. (I know the part is listed elsewhere, but forgive me for not wishing to pay >$200 for it at this time.)
I will be getting that info........I hope...........and will pass it along if found. The one problem will be is that I don't have a pix, dimensions, etc. of the rubber extrusion that runs along the perimeter of the side door windows. If you or someone can provide that visual and specs I will do a "search' for it. Kerry
Hi Kerry, I found a rubber manufacturer state side that sells extruded rubber, but the trouble is the acute angle bend that requires the piece to be formed into. Couldn't find the site, must be on the work computer, but just found this instead: http://www.acmerubber.com/tshapes.htm
Dear Ferraristi, For the window rubber, isn't this allot of effort for a $200.00 part? I mean, how many times will you change it? Why not just buy the OEM Ferrari one.....the one that fits? ...and the door rubber.....the OEM fits....just pay the F pimp. Again, how many times do you need to change it? Hi Shamile, I see your point, but personally would rather spend good money on keeping the car running properly. Meanwhile, I am still trying to locate an adhesive that would allow me to repair the rip and forget about it. "Got your back covered, Crockett!" Dear Ferraristi, Nice pix but that is a specific position rubber. It's not like some long run of door seal rubber. That rubber had to be made for that door shape. I doubt you will find a suitable replacement. ...and how nice will it look. I still say buy the OEM and it will look and fit the best. I know, I know, I hate being ripped off by the F pimp. I once bought the OEM crap "Ferrari" labeled ratchet for my tool kit. I paid the F pimp $400.00 for the ratchet, $140.00 for the universal joint, 80.00 for the extension and 85.00 for the socket. It hurt so bad....I only bought one part at a time....now my tool kit is complete...and happy. Shamile Freeze....Miami Vice !
Here is a photo of the sample I received today. I have put some simple dimensions on and a line to indicate that the top of the seal is in line with the internal face of the clipped part. Please let me know if you need any more information. It does look like an earlier posted photo and I note that it does NOT have the internal buffer as described in their specification and posted by me earlier. While it might not be an exact match I reckon that this will be a good second especially considering my old seals are now so flat and worn. Phil Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here is the site I found.. http://www.automobiletrim.com/ I am concerned about the height of the felted part that clasps to the body.. It seams much higher vs. oem.. As far as the window strips.. I would go oem.. R
