    Cracked 1990 windshield -- prices for a replacement range from $1800 (private vendor) to $5900 (dealer). Installation ranges from $525 (dealer) to $2325 (dealer). Has anyone had their windshield replaced? One dealer ($2325) said the front cowl has to be removed. I don't see the necessity to do this. The replacement seems very straight forward. HELP!

    I have heard its about $4000-5000 for the windshield...I am unaware of any alternatives... perhaps get one from a salvage yard?

    My dad had a 86 TR and when the windsheild cracked, believe it or not that insurence(state farm) paid a local glass company to order the window from the dealer and the local company (glass pro) installed the windsheild with no problem. The total bill to the insurence was over 6500.00 ouch
