    I am planing to have my catalytic converters remove and replace them with stright pipes or test pipes in my Testarossa, 86. However, I heard from one of my friend who did the same with his 512TR, the car ran badly. The mixture was strange result in not running well car. So, he put cats back and the car ran ok. Was it because he need to change the oxygen senser to work with no cats.? Was that the case for the Testarossa? Please advise...

    My 512TR race car has a stock engine w motech ignition & no cats or mufflers. It runs strong at 500hp + all day long & its so loud you'll need ear plugs for over 30 minutes near the car

    My mechs just removed the crappy muffler on my 512M & installed straight pipes w no cats. She has twin turbos which quiet her down a little but the bark over 4500 rpm is awesome :)

    Patpong -- What's the engine family number on your TR (it's on top of the engine block at cyl #6)?

    TR and 512TR only have a single O2 sensor at the inlet to each cat so (as long as you have a working O2 sensor in about the same place) the injection system should work the same (regardless of cat or test pipe).

    I know.... I read the thread about no cat and saw there comments.... Oh.no. I would leave the cat. on as soon as 20,000+ buses, Gov't running, here in Bangkok have cats....
