I currently own a Lamborghini Huracan and have been thinking about picking up a Ferrari sometime in the next couple of months and i’m torn between the 458 and the 488...

I ended up renting a 488 from https://iexoticauto.com in Houston to get a feel for it.Car was in great condition so I got to feel the raw power of the 488 and it honestly more refined than I expected coming from the Huracan.
But I’m still curious how it stacks up against the 458 in terms of driving feel and overall experience.

Has anyone here owned or driven both? They didn't the 458 available to rent but would appreciate any input before I pull the trigger.

I tested a 458 before buying the 488; I had a 599 at the time so the lack of torque of the 458 was a big disappointment for me.
The 458 is significantly slower than the 488, but both have enough power for the road - the big difference is in the feeling, many will prefer the drama and the noise of a high revving engine and will despise the turbocharged engine of the 488.
For whatever reason, those prefering the 458 are also typically more vocal than those prefering the 488 :p

Maybe they prefer just the exhaust tone of an NA car, personally I don't mind either coming from v10 platform. They might be more vocal from being insecure haha

I think I will go with the 488..

Drove a 458 and was very disappointed compared to the Huracan EVOs I drove before and after (same day).......hated the power delivery. The Huracan's were exciting, the 458 felt like a luxury car. I personally would buy an F8 though

The F8 is better than the 488 (it has more power, and the smaller steering wheel is a good idea), but currently the price difference may still be excessive since the F8 is still perceived as almost new; over time I think the difference will narrow (although obviously the F8 will remain more expensive).
I bought the 488 when it was introduced; I considered to replace it by an F8 but the price gap between my old 488 and a brand new F8 was not justified for me.

I own both a Huracan and 458. Drove a 488 on the track at Speed Vegas. For me, I prefer the 458. It’s more visceral and special to drive. Huracan is like driving a Lexus except for its synthetic exhaust note. Don’t get me wrong that both cars are awesome and the 458 is the slowest of the bunch, but speed aside I would take the 458.
