Interesting to note that the team did not run those wheel disks for the rear tyres : Three teams were in action today at Jerez, kicking off another week of testing at the Spanish circuit. Ferrari test drivers Marc Gene and Luca Badoer finished first and second on the time sheets. Lewis Hamilton set the fourth fastest time behind Alex Wurz. Hamilton was only supposed to start his work on Wednesday but McLaren made a last minute change to give the GP2 Champion an additional day of testing. Alex (Wurz) and Narain (Karthikeyan) were driving today with the new gearbox and Toyota engine in both cars, explained Mike Condliffe, Test Team Manager at Williams. Alex completed a front tyre construction test in the morning and we then moved onto a race distance run in the afternoon which was successfully completed. We carried out some engine mapping work on Narain's car before we had some teething problems which prevented us completing all the running we had planned. The team will continue working on the car tonight to be back on track tomorrow. Toyota and BMW Sauber will join todays team for the second day of testing at Jerez tomorrow. Jerez - 10/10/06 1. M. Hey Brian - thanks for posting the info. That's great news about Ferrari being 1-2 at practice. Also very good news (well as far as I'm concerned anyway) is that Hamilton got to practice and he did a great job. I'd like to see him in the open McLaren seat - honestly, I think he'd beat FA if there we no team orders in that camp. I hope that the testing results carry over to the race!! Carol
Hie Carol. how ur doing? yeah, i hope the form will carry on. it's MS's turn for tests on wednesday. on the other part, i really hope Ron will give Lewis an outing in Brazil. doens't make any sense to keep PDLR. he had a bad race in Japan. plus, i think if Lewis races in Brazil, it'll be good for him. help him to prepare better for next season, assuming he's in the racing seat.
