    For those interested in why Mitch was having a problem it is because of the way the Teves system works. It does not have a conventional master cylinder with vacuum boost. The rear brake calipers are pressurized by the high pressure hydraulic pump circuit which also brovides the boost for hydraulicly assisted power brakes and ABS modulation. Front calipers are pressurized like a normal braking system, thus pressure bleeding works fine. But to bleed the rears you need the key on, and accumulator charged and then depress the pedal to open the high pressure circuit to the rear calipers. The WSM gives only a short paragraph on bleeding. Operation is described later in the WSM.

    I regularly post questions about bleeding in bleeding threads with key on or off with Motive etc (even in this thread) and never was clear as information seemed conflicting. This explains it! Thanks all.
