Anyone up for a Texas FChat pilot March overnight at Fredricksburg? Lots of stuff for spouses, airport hotel and restaurant and superb pilot bar.

Would be great to meet everyone.

Did I mention there was a superb pilot bar?

The Hangar hotel on the Gillespie county field is quite good.

And, there is a superb pilot bar.

If you don't fly, this is in the hill country and a BEAUTIFUL drive if you want to bring the Ferrari or whatever.

For people that want to drive down I think you already know the great roads around there.

I'll have room for 3 more in the Skylane Turbo, but Greg, Ron, and Jerry have first dibs because we were already planning a Fredericksburg trip.

I will plan on going down Friday afternoon and leaving Sunday. Here are some pics from when Jennie and I went down last Spring. Pull plane right up to hotel, room 50 yards away, officer's club happy hour, 2nd floor patio watching planes arrive, soda shop type diner, within walking distance a 4 star restaurant "Cotton Gin", and quick drive to downtown for shops, bars, great German food, and military museums. I love the place!

I'll fly up there tomorrow and talk to the folks - it's a great place to practice anyway.

The cafe is also quite good....

I am thinking on last Sat in March show up, check in, Tour Fburg and Nimitz Museum, dinner at the Cotton Gin then a night at the pilot bar. Sun AM breakfast in the cafe, then a photo, then departure.

Ya can always spend the 30-45 minutes and run down to Luckenbach and back. Not much there, but worth the photo op.

There's a DC-3 sitting in a corner of the airfield, guaranteed it won't have moved out under it's own power by March ;)

You've got 5 weeks to get cleared solo X-C, complex check out, buy a Navion and cruise down.

    Just don't fly over Crawford.

    :)

OK, I'm not self-disciplined enough to stay in design envelope (gee, whaddya mean it won't pull -7G?), but can I maybe try to come by in my light aircraft? I don't know if I can get away for sure, but I'd come up just to harass Russ. LMK, spring break ends 3/16, so we'll be in town. Mia is cute BTW. Best to Jennie.

Here Sfu is pre-flighting his idea of a light aircraft, assisted by his manservant, Fastviper.

Plane reserved, hotel reserved, and rental car.

Found out all rooms in Hangar are single King Size bed. They also don't do roll aways. At $170 a night that's not conducive to a guys trip saving on costs. :)

If you are going, I would go ahead and get your reservation. We don't need any other cars I don't think, but I would get your room.

Yes, the last Saturday in March is the 28th.

Perhaps you could carry a couple of Dallas FChat folks in that rice rocket... :)

Would love to see it - it looks spectacular! It will be great to have someone who burns more gas than me...

This whole boondoggle sounds like fun, though I'm not a pilot nor an airplane guy. I do like things with motors though. :) I wonder if I can get a kitchen pass?

Does the MU2 have room for an extra butt?

Ron out because of wedding, Tillman in (maybe).

Still waiting to hear from Greg and Jerry. Actually now this trip is sounding better to Jennie and Mia. I think they qualify for the trip, Jennie is a student pilot and Mia doesn't let a single plane go by without pointing "plane".
