This is likely an age old question but today's my first day on FerrariChat and the 360 I purchased arrives next week. I need advice on which insurance companies cover Ferrari's for pleasure purposes. I'll only drive less than 1000 miles per year, am 57 years old and have a perfect driving record. Any tips? I've called State Farm and a couple of others and premiums are in the $1900/year ball park. Is this reasonable, or is there an inside line to this?

    Cheers!

Try getting a quote online from Hagerty, they are good.
I was with Allstate and the price kept creeping up on me. I got a price from Hagerty and I saved over $800/yr with them! Today my Allstate agent was able to write the policy with Hagerty through his office for the same price, so I told him to do it for me.

Drive it more... it probably won't cost you much more.

My policy (in Ohio) has a maximum of 8,500 miles per year. Will I ever get close to that? No. But, it's good to know I have the capacity and I don't have to count my miles.

Your quoted premium seems high, don't know why. I'm not using a specialty carrier or anything (all of my policies are with Erie Insurance) and I'm only paying around $1,200 per year for a 2001 360 Spider, perfect driving record, 32 years old.

Good luck! We'd love to see a new thread with some pics of your car when it arrives!

56 years old here, perfect driving record and my 360 costs me $990 every six months for insurance. But this is through Allstate as a normal car with no driving restrictions since I daily drive. I own 3 cars and a motorcycle, the motorcycle is my primary driver and I drive it more than any other vehicle (I prefer 2 wheels) with the 360 being second.

My last quote a year ago from Hagerty was $1,100 for the year so I could save $900 but I was not willing to put with the restrictions like X miles per year, I am now considering it and Allstate can write the policy.

I have Wawanesa and my 550 is the 4th car on my policy and it's rated for around 1000 miles a year. I'm 47 with a clean record. With a $500 comp and collision deductible, it's only $400 a year.

Safeco has a classic car designation that they can use provided you have another car on the policy. It's very cheap (400-500), stated amount coverage. You're limited to 5,000 miles a year and you cannot use the car for daily transportation.

I guess I'm lucky in my insurance, I'm 55 with good record and own a 430 coupe. Pay under 500 on a 6 month policy here in Texas. Listed as pleasure..

Holy cow! I have 4 cars insured and it's $1800/year for all: 2 Porsches, a 360 and a chevy DD. Call AAA (the towing folks) for a quote.

Good to have another 360 in Austin. Make sure you join FCA, we have a great local chapter.

Have 3 cars & 2 motorcycles insured, I'm 59 with good driving record.
    My 456GT is $ 800./year=$70,000-$5,000 franchise/deductable-$2 mil. liability.
We are lucky in Quebec but they get us with the registration fees= about $250./car but the worst is $560./bike (and we ride only about 6 months/year).
The top of it all is my son's Triumph Daytona 675=$1,200/year registration fees.

Call AAA if you need a good laugh. I have been a AAA member for over 30yrs and they wanted to almost double the $89 monthly payment on my '99 Miata and I have a perfect driving record. I now pay $924 a year, $77 per month, for full coverage plus uninsured motorist coverage on my '04 525i.

Shop around. Sorry I know my reply is not 360 related but it just proves that you should "shop until you drop" while making sure you get the coverage that suits your need's.

I have USAA here in Texas for my 456M and it's about $1,600.00 per year. I'm 56 and haven't had a ticket in over ten years, and no accidents for over 15 (Last one on a motorcycle). I drive it about... a lot. lol.

    Cheers,
