Anyone been to the track? Trying to buy tickets to next months Dickies 500. Row 47 are $190, and row 30 are $140. Does the seating numbers start at the top of the stands and get higher as you get closer to the track? Why are higher numbered seats in the same section more expensive? What about pit access before the race? do they have it?
I'm pretty sure that it starts at the bottom and goes up from there. The upper seats can be more expensive because you can get a better overall view of the entire track. Pit access is ~90 bucks a head, but you can only get a pit pass if you are season ticket holder.
Row count starts at the bottom. The cheapest tickets are at the bottom, and the price goes up as you get higher on the bleachers. Some of the best seating have 'Preferred Seat Licenses' associated with them -- you have to pay a fee for the right to buy a season ticket there. I'm a cheap sonofagun, we've had our season tickets at row 3, start-finish line for years. Not really a bad view thanks to the tvs showing the backstretch, less than $300 for a season pass, and a great view of the pits. Also the sound and smell as the cars come by is incredible.
What about front row on the back stretch? Is it just a constant "CRANK IT UP!" with cars blowing by at 190 and you don't see much? I was not sure what to get so I bought two sets of tickets. Front row on the back stretch, and then some near the start finish up in the upper deck.
