there is an evening track event on August 14, this summer thru thedriversedge.net - anyone here tracked their car there? I have done a few track events with other cars thru TDE and had good experiences, just never at the fort worth speedway -
Texas Driving Experience is also putting on their event at TMS ( Roval ) on April 30th. There are at least 2 spots left that I know of, in case you cannot wait till Summer time to run. They are running the " big " track as well as the infield, a first for me, which looks fun ( read: fast ) Steve
In the past, their events have run about 250$ or so. there will be cars of all types there, so not just an F event.
no one tracks their Ferrari in Texas. Drivers Edge events open to all cars except this event is no race cars I believe.
I did the first TMS event (that I know of) back in 2000 or 2001 with TDE. It was fun. They put a chicane (one lane...very tight w/ cones) about the middle of the front straight so you could not get to out of control going in to NASCAR turn 1! Most people with high HP cars and the cars themselves are not set up for NASCAR turns or the speeds you can reach up there! Even w/ that chicane my '88 928 S4 hits 100 THREE TIMES a lap!! It was a BRAKE KILLER! Though no problems for the 3600# S4...they have AWESOME brakes! I did cord a tire so keep an eye on them. All that said and how cool it was to run on a HUGE track like that, it was pretty dang boring! I MUCH, MUCH prefer Harris Hill Road in San Marcos, or MSR-Cresson or even my "home" track TWS! All of those are FAR MORE FUN! Good luck and enjoy!
so my chevy cobalt would be fine for the track? and its only 250$ to drive the track, and do i need to register or is it a come and go event
cobalt would be fine, I use to race the SS version in my RX8. register at http://www.thedriversedge.net/ as they do fill up ahead of time.
