Hopefully they manage to get the 0-60 time below the elusive 10 second mark.

I think 10 seconds is reasonably, considering the fact that once you get to 60 with the flux capacitor upgrade you can travel to any point in the past you would like. Glad I'm a member of NYMC knowing that there might be a delorean and Andrea seems to love us, which is very nice.

From what ive heard they will be using some sort of upgraded engine and suspension, which should help performance a little. but when i finally get mine in a year or two, i'll be doing either a GMC typhoon motor swap or this:

I don't know if anyone here has actually driven a Deloreon, but I can tell you from experience they drive like a bucket-o-crap and they are PAINFULLY slow. If they do revive the car I hope they actually put a different engine in that thing as opposed to that Renault lump that powered them as I believe they only had 138hp. Now... take a Deloreon and shoehorn in an LS7, redo the gearbox and suspension and you'll have something really serious.

I need to respond to this...I actually own a 1981 DeLorean, the suspension has been lowered to initial engineering height ( perceived 81 bumper laws called for a higher ride although it never happened) otherwise a totally stock and Concours level car. The car is more than adequate no its not a Countach but it keeps up with its contemporaries of that era it is an 81 dont forget. And to dispel rumors not as heavy as people think stainless steel is a light metal. The car handles like its on rails too...due to the lowering. Was the Delorean you drove or rode in on its original tires?? that has alot to do with handling. The car had some minor problems like every car out there all of which were easily rectified with some updated electronics...Dont believe me ??? I live in Whitestone wanna check it out??? I'm big on Giugiaro's styling and this car is pretty striking. Here's mine at Concours....

nice delorean bro, i'm diggin it. when i pick up mine (i'm thinkin 2 years or so) i'm going to do kind of a resto-mod thing with it, lowering it, possibly a motor swap or a rebuilt 2.8 with a turbo, and update/upgrade the interior. the whole project shouldnt be more than $30,000, so it's not totally out of reach, and yeah, when the car is lowered, the styling kicks ass.

FYI....manual 5 speed cars did about 6s automatics are pretty bad in the 10 sec range its true and the car tops out at 137 not bad for a six in 1981
