Mrs. JRR and I just returned from a fantastic weekend in Chicago and had a great time!! The original reason for the trip was to attend the U2 concert, but we naturally extended our mission to include museums, great food, and fun shopping.

    Hotel Monaco - thumbs up.
Art Institute - a perpetual thumbs up.
"Yolk" - for brunch. thumbs up.
Shopping - tiring, but thumbs up.

The U2 concert at Soldier Field? Holy mother of rock... what a fantastic show! Life is complete... I've finally seen U2 in concert after waiting 20(?) years. Mrs. JRR surprised me with the tickets, VIP stuff, and the whole event. Absolutely amazing. My ears are still ringing, and honestly, I wish it were even louder.

The weather could not have been any nicer, and it was just an all around great time. As Bono might have described it, "a city of blinding lights"

    Glad you liked our city.

Agreed on the Monaco hotel (never stayed there, but ate there).

U2 wouldn't make my life complete, but I understand the feeling, I just prefer other bands. Yes, Styx or Pink Floyd would have that effect on me (big synthy fan).
