Dude!! That's gonna look SHARP!!! They just announced MAJOR price increases in license plates here, if "special order"...
Costs about 650, but in Belgium you can only get 3 numbers and 3 letters. Before last year, you could only get 3 letters and 3 numbers. And it stays with me for life, and can be inherited
Remember I got the car for free, so 650 isn't that expensive, I spent 6000 already to get the car in perfect condition...
Congrats!!! Thats one of the greatest plates EVER!!! I would have LOVED to have seen your car when I was in Belgium. I only had six numbers on my plate when I was there, but it was blue, not red. I think my tag was a bit cheaper though. I am glad I didnt have to pay the regular rates on my truck over there. The normal tag would have been more than 4k Euro. PDG
The blue license plates are European plate, only used but people who work in European gouvernments in Brussels. License plates in Belgium are for free, but you got to pay your taxes obviously. To get a custom plate you got to pay extra. But since I won the car...... YES
The blue plates are issued in a few places other than Brussels. Thats how I had mine. I have not seen photos of your car. I heard about you winning it, but what year, color, etc.... I want to know more about it!!! Is there another thread somewhere I missed? I have considered essentially the same plate for mine. PDG
I work next to the NATO headquarters and I see these plates all the time. You also have the regular plates with green CD indication for diplomates. I work for the US gouvernment, hence your blue plate I guess. I won the car in februari, on Radio Nostalgie to promote Magnum PI DVDs. I guess I got lucky and I had some good friends to help me win it. It's a '79 308 GTS US spec. with carburators. It has about 60000 miles. Fairly new engine, rebuilt in 2006. I had it checked and invested 6000 in it to get it in mint condition. I couldn't drive it during the summer because of leaking cardan shaft. But I'm planning to drive it during winter too when dry by all means.
Congratulations, Kris, those look awesome! How come some Belgian plates have a dot while others have a dash?
Old license plates have dots. The new plates (since 30 years) have a dash. The king's car has "1". The president of parlement has "A-1"
Here's a photo of it's nest... And the plates on the car! Merry christmas! Image Unavailable, Please Login
