    Spoke to Ryan on the phone over a month ago... Just a casual conversation... Last week there's a yellow card from the post office on my desk; they have a package for me and it's too big for the post office box... "What the hell could it be?" i wonder... So i take my time and the next day i finally go to the post office and as soon as i see the return address/name on the box, i know what it is... All excited, i run out to my car and open it - i couldn't even wait to get back to the office...!

    Ryan understands that one is never enough... Anyone know the difference between the "regular" Hot Wheels Enzo and the Gold Edition...?

    LOL... It looks exactly the same... i'm wondering if i should take this one apart and paint the seats all black (but leave the wheels alone), so it'll look just like 134282... i wonder where i can get a 1:18 VIN tag and assembly number plate...?

    Gerald helped me with that model... i didn't have the balls to take it apart - so he did...! He painted the seats flat black so the interior would be all black... i painted the wheels glossy black... Total cost...? Just under $4 for two little bottles of Testors paint and a very fine paint brush...

    There's one on ebay right now for $19 buy it now and $9 shipping? Are they worth it? I was thinking about buying it seeing as it was cheaper than the normal models but was "gold".

    I had to check this thread and see what the buzz was all about. I got all hyped up and end up buying/ordered one on the net anyways, should be in the mail next week :D I dont know what the difference between the regular and the gold except the name...

    Anyhow, I just receive both my F430's 1:18's (Yellow and Red) this week. The yellow F430 showcase is worth it. I cant take my eyes off it all day *dream'n*... Im waiting for my Showcase 1:18 Enzo (Red), should arrive next week. The clear showcase is the coolest thing I swear, HW should have this on all their models.

    Btw, Does the wheels snap off easy?

    The black wheels look very nice. Question: were they off the model when you painted them or did you just leave them on an painted them in that fashion?

    Donoe, can you take pictures of your F430s and post them...? i saw one at Ferrari of Atlanta last weekend and they look really nice... The wheels on the Enzo don't come off - at least, i was too chicken to try to "snap" them off... When the body was off, i just pulled the tires off the wheels and painted the wheels while they were still attached to the "chassis"...

    Thanks very much....now I have a weekend project. I may practice on my extra red Enzo first to make sure I can do this. I only have one black one and I don't want to screw that one up!

    Retro...

    Murphy's Law applies heavily to me when i'm doing things like this - which is why i was so hesitant to do it in the first place... If something can wrong - it WILL go wrong... But i "survived"... So if i can do something like this, ANYone can... Go ahead and try it; you'll love the new look...

    After thinking about this, I phoned home to have my son look at the extra red one I have. He says the interior is all black, so I think I am going to swap the chassis between the red one and the black one, complete with interior, and then paint the wheels black.

    Hope you don't mind me 'stealing' your creativity!

    I will know better when I get home. He is 16 and his attention to detail at times is not what I would hope it to be...lol.

    I also have an extra White Whips that I was thinking of swapping the wheels onto another Enzo. I was thinking about trying to find another black one and seeing what it looks like. Maybe when I make the swap with the red one I will put the black body on the Whips chassis.

    I also know where there is another white Whips for sale....do I need 3 of them?....lol

    Where I live, finding and buying Hot Wheels Enzo is a hit or miss proposition. I have managed to get my collections as follows:

    2 regular red: both bought at retail from Toys R Us and Sears

    Black and Yellow Regular: ordered from a dealer in Quebec

    Red Whips: bought from dealer in New Brunswcik who was working a car show here

    2 White Whips: bought both at retail from Toys R Us and Sears

    I hate paying premium prices to speculators, so I try to avoid things like eBay. I live in Canada and the exchange and shipping charges are killers. If possible, I prefer to pick them up right at the local stores and it not possible, I try to deal with Canadian dealers. All strictly from a financial point of view.

    Let me see about that other white Whips...maybe we can work something out.

    i hear what you're saying about dealing with certain people and not others... i feel the same way... i used to go to Manhattan to the Exoticar store and pay ridiculous prices for models... Then i learned that if you troll places like Toys R Us and Kay Bee Toys, you find the same models for a fraction of the price...

    If you know of an available white Enzo, please let me know...

    Sometimes the chase is half the fun....

    For sure I will let you know about the other White one. I will have to take my son to work tomorrow and the Toys R Us is right next door.
