    On Saturday afternoon, shortly after arriving to the Wellington Chateau for the Annual Wellington Summer Haranguing Italian Tirade (A.W.S.H.I.T.), Sam approached me and let me know i could drive his Mondial "whenever i was ready"... i laughed and said i'm always ready... So he gave me the keys; "Go have fun"...

    Holy ****...! He was serious...! Just like that...!

    So off i went with co-pilot Staino to my left... i never thought life would get this good. Thanks, Sam.


    ...and thank YOU, Bruce, for the awesomest party of the year...! :)

    No...! Sam's 8 has a black interior, which completely threw me off...! Seriously... i thought i was in a completely different car... It was weird...

    If i were in the market for a Mondial 8, it would have to be black with a black interior - you know that...! :)

    Yeah... My driving impressions of Erik's 8 are reserved for a pending article i hope to see in print within the next few months... So Sam's generosity will allow me to expound here...

    i always feel like, before i go into my opinion, i have to defend the Mondial - does anyone else feel like that...? There's just SO much negative stuff out there about the Mondials...

    i don't know if Sam has an aftermarket exhaust on there or what, but the car sounds great when you get above four grand... i'm sure i don't have enough seat time in an 8 (or maybe i have too much seat time in a Sebring), but it's a reall fun car to drive... i took Gus with me when i drove it; we went to the gas station to get some cigarettes and on the way back, i opened her up a little on the twisty road back to the Chateau... A lighthearted conversation about Gus' high blood pressure quickly turned into:

    "Ahhh...! What are you doing, i have high blood pressure...!!!"

    i had a good time... :)

    How exactly was that accomplished? Did he drive? Was he in the lane next to you? Is Sams car right hand drive?

    Not a bad lookin' car! Bidding currently a good deal at the price of a Hyundai for a car that rolled out of the gates at Maranello that you could use everyday. Perhaps FML would give you a special advance for this one.

    Black with red is pretty nice as well.....

    Look closer..closer...imagine yourself cruising down a shady tree-lined twisty Georgia backroad with the four cam fuel injected engine behind you wailing on Maranello's song as you snick precisely through the metal machined gated gears, expertly using the long Mondial wheelbase and flicking a little power to steer the car with the throttle. "Such precise balance, this Italian beauty", you muse to yourself with a wry knowing grin as you feel the Michelins strain heavily on the sticky hot southern road.
    A college coed by your side and her two (petite) Japanese identical twin friends in back, they squeal in delight pressing into the warm red receptive Connolly leather as you press hard your shadowy Italian steed to Chateau Elan to cover yet another FCA meet.

    Just another day for the average Mondial 8 owner; could be you. :)

    And remember, the complete purchase price of a Mondial 8 is less than a brake job on an Enzo if you're pinching pennies...

    Hey Carbon, just saw this. You're welcome, any time. Glad you had fun. No special modifications to the exhaust. Oh, well, it did ignite once and had to be put out by the FDNY. Still the same exhaust; even that didn't kill it. That’s a "mod" I would not recommend. ;)
