Big thanks for the hosting of F1 at Smith Mountain Lake, and letting a couple of orphan central VA guys join in. We had a fantastic time! Of course, the race was eclipsed by the ride/drive in our hosts 360 spider. Once we were able to form coherent words again, we decided it was "adequate" transportation. Sorry no pictures from the race-watching part, but a couple of shots (lame camera phone) of pbetz taking over the wheel to get the hang of F1 shifting (taken from my car, where I was following to enjoy the sound!)

Looking forward to seeing everyone again at VIR on Thursday!

Those were some pretty good photos. I would have thought your photo editor could have flattened my stomach just a little bit. Too much barbecue and chicken salad, I guess. We are glad everyone had a great time.

Did you mean gastronomical? After all the barbecue and chicken salad along with everything else that was consumed there was certainly some of that. If you actually did mean astronomical there was a local who owned and operated a telescope store that regularly, about once a month, host a public
gathering to view the stars and other celestial bodies. Maybe you were thinking of that?
