Just wanted to pass along a big THANK YOU to Roy for his handling of my latest obsessional aquisition.......... the wife and I have always been nutso over the SE30 Diablo........purple being the only color I ever lusted for, though I'd have taken one in any color.

We finally were able to get a deal together when Roy got the Dolphin machine recently. In addition to being ecstatic that the collection now includes a purple SE30, I wanted to pass along a public comment on Roy and Micheal at Cats Exotics........they were fabulous to deal with and very straightforward honorable folks. Roy runs a quality operation.

As for the car - well, I had assumed the Dolphins would come off without any question......and they probably still will - but though I totally disagree with the medium, they are done very very well. Kind of a shame. Plus that car is known by a lot of folks at s the Dolphin Diablo. Who knows - we'll go through the mechanicals first then worry about grinding the fishies off.

It took me several years to get my downdraft the way I wanted it, so I have patience.

Enjoy it, it is truely a true exotic right along with F40 or better! Let me know when you wanna sell it after the release of the Dolphins..!!

Maybe you could find a new hood & save the Dolphins? Could even hand it in your house as a work of art. :)

    In any event, congrats!

Congrats on the new car! The SE30 is definitely my favorite Diablo and despite the "embellishments" to yours it's still a very nice looking car...albeit not to everyones taste. It's even cooler that it'll be in the DC area now. :)

Exactly. I'd have the hood (and door skins possibly) mounted somewhere in the house and put on new ones.

I would remove the engine, make coffee table out of it, and mount the car on the wall, starting a new Lambo trend.

Never been a lover of Christian Lassen - I say off with the Dolphins no question. The value of the car will rise then!

I am a fan of Christians and i think for what his original works go for, this is truly a bargain, you have an original artwork of his, and a Diablo.

    Bargain IMO.

    keep em.

Thank you QVPower !!! Even in its rough, pre-major service condition with ancient crusty tires it still belted out quite a wollup. I tested all three levels of the traction control and they worked perfectly, and the suspension is tight and straight.

You and I think alike - the SE30 is one trick machine !! I have been waiting for this for a long time.

Thanks again to Roy for being flexible and patient as to how we got the deal done. He really made it easy to work out getting the car (I should also mention that he was very honest and straight in his representation of the car).

Spot on, especially with the Hawaii license plates.

Lambos are already loud, this eyecatcher shouldn't alter that impact by much and the paint has a lot of pop to it. If you're afraid of being the subject of everyone's attention while driving down the road, then I must ask, should you really be driving your Lambo?

I'm not afraid of being the subject of the attention - the Countach has beat that out of me. It's purely the issue that it clutters up the lines and shape of the car for me.

It is honestly far more of a dilemna than I thought it would be....... I do think the guys work is very good (though not my thing really), and the paint is in overall excellent condition on the car. It is just the stongest clash I can imagine - kinda of like hot German mustard on cold cereal -each things I love independant of each other, but quite terrible together.

The market has spoken pretty loud over the umpteen years that car sat for sale at ridiculous prices, and it took it to get down to a reasonable price for an SE30 to be repainted and gone though - which is exactly what happened. So using the definition of "worth" to be the intersection of what someone is willing to sell and someone else is willing to pay for something, I'd say the fishies added negative ten grand or so - the value of a basic good paint job (without jambs and such) for a Diablo -which is a far contrast to the sometimes huge premiums they were tying to get for that car for years.

Much as I do think it will be a shame to wet sand off that fine artwork (and who knows - still may not), Herr Lassen should have kept his fabulous handiwork on canvas, because the market places no value on it when it's on Diablo SE30's.

Also- if it weren't a friggin' SE30, it wouldn't be such a controversy to me - there are only 9 purple SE's in the US..... if purple weren't the anniversary color, if it werent' SUCH a special Diablo, if if if if.........

Then again, if all that were true I would've passed and let a dolphin fanatic have it.

I will be on the lookout on Rockville Pike for the fishies! Nice that a diablo will be cruising around town. Don't see much around here.

I went to the Christian Lassen gallery in Cesaers and was impressed with his work, incredible artist but not my thing. I would prefer a piece on my wall over being in my garage. That would be a tough dilemma for me as well deciding on removing the dolphins...Great work but he just decided to use to wrong canvas:(

Congrats to Roy for a nother job well done and to you for the purchase of your new Lambo:cool:

too bad I havent seen lassen doing bulls. What should have been on there is bulls. That would probably ELEVATE the price... In all seriousness though, se30 are really the trickest diablo out there. Gomifune knows what I am talking about.. Just keep looking at the details gomifune and you will appreciate every time you look at the car more and more what Lamborghini did on this car.
