Window was down, but the music was off... Need to hear the car to make sure everything's running smoothly and i like to be aware of whatever noises might be audible in the distance, so that i'm best prepared for whatever might be around one of the many blind curves... Sometimes, the tires you hear screeching aren't your own... :)

Sometimes mate you can see and hear what is coming but cant do a thing about it, if there is something wrong with the car and you can hear it, turning up the radio makes the problem go away ;)

ROTFLMAO...!!! That is so funny...! That's exactly what i did in the Sebring...!!!

No problems with the Sentra, it runs like a dream... But i turned the overdrive off so i could have more low end power (i burned a **** load of gas, though) and i just wanted to have a good listen to make sure all was well... It's almost like America's own little Nürbürgring... :)

Watch out for deer. There is getting to be more and more and more deer along the roads everywhere. I saw a deer right in the middle of a friend's high class neighborhood one night. Nibbling on grass right between the houses. And always 2 or 3 along the highway at night. I even saw one deer in the middle of the day about 30 feet off the interstate. A co-worker has herds of deer in his rural neighborhood and I always ask him how many he sees every night while driving in to work. About 2 weeks ago he was driving home doing 25mph in order to avoid them. He cautiously looked to the left from where they normally cross the road. At the exact instant that he looked to the right again......WHAM!!!!! A deer had started to run across the road, smashed into his right front turn signal light and broke it out. The deer ran off. They're everywhere.

And did I mention that a guy killed a 600 POUND BEAR right here in rural Pulaski County, Arkansas a few months ago. This GIANT bear was roaming around in the woods within a mile or so of the interstate highway. Imagine stepping out your back door one night to feed the raccoons and encounter a 600 pound BEAR!!!

Are you using that as a way to say "taking out the trash" or do you really go out to feed raccoons? Just curious.

I wouldn't get near one of those bastards...everyone thinks they're so damn cute, but they'd just as soon take a fish from you as chew your hand off. The ones in "The Great Outdoors" were funny though.

There are a lot of raccoons around here. Nearly everybody in a rural area has a raccoon encounter. I know several folks that feed them. Once they get use to coming to a certain place to find food, they keep coming back. My friend who hit the deer has raccoons that come up on his back porch regularly, looking for food. Raccoons can get as big as a dog. One night he saw one standing up on its back feet leaning up against the glass patio door begging for dinner! Another guy told me that a friend of his had about a dozen raccoons showing up on his back porch every night looking for food. A crew of that size can wolf down a 50 pound bag of dog food in a week.
