You know when you start believing your own Press Releases, you are in bad shape........LOL!

You should blow his mind with a cash offer, to return the car to Factory condition......... "Do you still have the original wheels, shocks and suspension? Oh, never mind then ....."

.........all it needs are some fuzzy dice and light up valve stem caps

First off, just evil on the cash offer for original..........but that would be just incredible........."I've been looking so hard for one of these cars, $60,000 if you can get it back to original." :) Evil, but that would be funny.

I emailed him and told him I was interested and to please fax over a copy of the carfax to my office immediately....we'll see what he sends. Good engine code of an "L" but I'm pretty certain you can't Carfax a Euro car.

I also told him that he ruined some of the originality of the car with his "upgrades" and showed him some websites with some nice original F-Cars on it.

I guess the reason I'm making such a big deal is I really do like the way the car looks, it's an original to say the least, but I also know that if I went out and paid 43K for the car right now I'd be stuck in that car forever for a loss of 10-15K, not a very good investment for a Ferrari considering these car prices are finally starting to stabilize. I'm just waiting right now for that Euro, if not there are some nice US QV's out there.

If he gets back to me, I'll offer him $33,000 for the car, if he doesn't want to take that......then he can list the car on Ebay.....for the 4th time.

I emailed this guy once - He sells lots of 308/328 for some reason. He had a 328 listed for $34k and I asked him why so low. He played dumb and said something like "Oh, is it?" Since he had a lot of those cars for sale, I asked him if it was his personal car & he said yes.

    I don't trust him.

ebay is good exposure but man there are some bottom feeders there, as well as outright frauds and crooks......

Not all by any stretch, but certainly some..

Yea glad you liked that strategy, LOL!.......EVERY STEP away from the way the car was originally built is a devaluation of these cars....

I use imported Italian air in my tires..........;)

This just gets better and better. This guy is just a straight up jerk.....I agree with what someone said before, stay away from this guy. Anyway, here's my email he sent me back asking what his best price was:

    FYI:
First, I have sold several 308s, all of which have ranged from $36.5k to $42.5k.
Second, restoring the paint/interior and adding Ferrari style wheels and tires does not constitute "modifications" that deteriorate the value of the car.

Third, the 308, particularly this 308, is much nicer than the 328 (I've had several 328s including two '89s).

You are simply incorrect on your oem assessment.

I don't expect to sell this car in two or three weeks. I'm in no rush and I will get my price.

You can have it for $42k cash.

.......think I'll go get the money right now :)

Item has ended for US $43,900.00 (brianljensen is the winner).
Another buyer used Buy It Now to purchase the item immediately.

IMHO, this was tastefully redone...not necessarily for purists or concours. Nevertheless, definitely appealing to me.

    Congrats and enjoy, Brian!

Sean, in your original post, I think we all said stay away from that guy.
You mean to tell me the buyer bought it with the "Buy it now" option? I'm assuming he didn't get a PPI, just what the seller was looking for. BigTex called it.

I emailed him several times, and the guy came off like a complete *****. In fact he even ended one email saying

"do you even own a Ferrari? No need to respond."

Just comes off as a pompus ass. If you read his feedback, there's a guy that bought another car from him that says it was not what he represented. Seems he also ripped some people off here on the board with a 3x8 radiator.

Anyway, best of luck to the guy who bought the car. I will venture to gather that he will have to hold on to this car for some time if he ever wants to try to get his money back out of it.

I'll just be patient. I'm sure my Euro 308 QV will show it's head sometime soon.

I e-mailed this jerk off several months ago with questions about some suspension parts he had listed on Ebay. His reply was so condesending, that I vowed I would widdle sway bars and bushings out of raw billet by hand before I would give this jack off a dollar! I have since purchased all the pieces that I need for far less money (and thankfully didnt have to go with the widdling method). If memory serves me correctly, the guy is an attorney in LA that fools around with Ferraris on the side. He always has stuff listed on Ebay.
That said, I like what was done with this car. I would not buy it from him, but probably would consider it if I were in the market and it was from a different seller. Digital pics can make a car look WAY better than in person. The telling tale on condition could only come from an up close PPI or at least seeing the car in person. If the car looks as good in person as it does in the photos and on paper, I think its a bargain if you are going to mildly mod a 308QV the way this has been done. None of the mods are dis-tasteful in my opinion and you couldnt buy a 308QV, do these mods, and end up at less than $43,000.
    My .02!
