Just trying to keep the underside of the nose high while respecting the new rules (see pic).

Most likely for oil coller or such.

Those sidepods will assist flow to the beam wing but I believe the diffuser will suffer. Also, where is the exhaust pointed???

Ofc form should always follow function in F1. But seriously, whoever in the FIA who made the 2012 must have a serious eye-disorder. Unless this car is twice as good as Red Bull was last year, it's not going to compensate for it's ugliness. I am a true tifosi and fan, and this morning I felt let down, not particularly by F, but by F1 in general. Is this what it has come to, overregulated and ugly (it will never become 'pretty' no matter what) cars? Remember what Enzo said all those years ago? "Aerodynamics is for people who can't build proper engines." haha

Just remember: the car that appears at the unveiling often looks quite different than the car that appears at the year's first Grand Prix.

I maybe should have explained that the yellow area is a stay-out zone - sorry.

Besides, the rounded top would probably generate more lift on the nose - not a good thing.

No, I understand. I'm just having a little fun this morning.

I wonder how much the engineers must be tired of hearing: "So, what's the deal with that NOSE?"

Wheelbase is definitely a bit longer, and mainly at the back as you can tell the crash structure is more forward than before.

Also, they have placed the pullrods at the back in the opposite direction as everyone else. While I'm impressed by their use of front pullrod suspension, I still have yet to understand why it was necessary due to such a minimal gain at the front end yet impossible rod angles.

The tea tray is definitely their largest yet. They tucked things up nicely there

Thanks for those pictures, I was just about to point out that this is going to be the standard nose for this season.

I actually like that nose: In its strange shape it reminds me of the weird designs we saw in the seventies and early eighties. Kind of a retro look.

That area of the nose doesn't matter a whole lot as far as purpose is concerned anyway. It's a brief high pressure area but I do believe FI and Lotus made better use of it with the 'V'. Ferrari know what they're doing so I'm sure there is a purpose to them not going with a 'V' there. Let's hope right lol

Besides the nose, I think its Ferrari's best looking car yet since the new rules came into affect.

As long as it is UBE, Ugly But Effective, I don't care! I want some wins for the team again! I am scared that Ferrari is headed for another long drought of Championships, like as what has become of my once great Redskins!
