.... not trying to sell anything here, so don't ban me. :)

Finally finished my DVD! Woo hoo! Now I understand why there's not alot of movies like this out in the market! It's ALOT of hard work to fully produce a 90 min movie yourself at home. (Been working on this for 3 years). It's alot of work setting up cruises, filming, photo shoots, contacting people, designing artwork, editing, proofing, etc... Now it's time to mail the demos to VAS Entertainment and let them review it. Hopefully they will distribute for me, then John and I, at "Holeshot Films" can start working on a new project. I have a Bike stunt project coming up in the future with some insane stunt bikers from Austin. Should be an exciting project! If anyone wants to be in a DVD, I'll probably post from time to time and come out to get some of you on film. If you have ever wanted to see your car gettin busy, in a film, like "Teckademics", "Import Fury" and "Grip" then let me know because thats what we do. This is the kind of DVD you find in the "Special Interest" section at Best Buy, Fry's, Wal Mart, etc... Yes, it would fall under the "Street Racing" category, but I'm trying to avoid that label on my DVD. Any hoo, I'm really excited and hope I can work on this full time and get a few DVD's out on the shelves. I also wanted to thank all of you who came out to the cruises, shoots and other events I set up. .....you know who you are, so contact me and I can see about getting you a free DVD. Thanks guys! Two Lambos and no Ferraris on the cover!?! I guess Ferraris handle too well to be called "wild". :D

Actually look at the wheel in the middle of the cover. Guess what kind of car that is. :) There are plenty of ferraris in the DVD and yes, my replica, as well as many other exotics, bikes and street cars. Those are just what I chose for the cover since I had nice pictures of them. I'm sure VAS will want to use their creativity to do a little artwork for a cover if they decide to distribute for me but I wanted to have somewhat of a professional approach with my demo DVD.

millions would be nice! :D ...but I would happy with a few hundred and getting my foot in the door for oppertunity to make more DVD's. If things go as planned, I hope to sell enough to make this my full time job. It would be cool to get something from Austin Texas out in HOLLYWOOD.... or Best Buy would be cool too. :D

any preview clips? be good to see how a fellow backyarder producer on the other side of the planet goes about things.

i'm doing much the same with our Exotics in the Outback thing... except we idiotically focussed on cars and speed rather than chicks dammit, hope it doesn't take 3 years though!!!!! loads of pics and a few vids in that link... actually here's the vids i've made so far here coz they're strewn about the thread.

    Lamborghini Gallardo
    Porsche GT2
    Road Train
    Ferrari Challenge Stradale

That's to easy, 348. I was dabbling on my comp and making a vid and expanding upon my old one with more of my Ferrari vids. Unfortunantly my comp keeps locking up and Movie maker keeps crashing. Freind of mine says it's due to lack of ram though. :(

Make sure your computer isn't running other applications in the background, like virus scan and stuff like that. look at the little icons on the botom right of your screen and right click on those suckers to kill them. It helps out with video stuff.

    Ash,

What kind of camera are you using? The Lambo video has a lot of wind noise in it. You need to work on that. It's very unprofessional and makes it look amateurish.

I produce special interest videos (mostly in the firearms industry) and make a good living at it.

I looked into doing a Ferrari type video for myself. But everyone I contacted wants you to grease their palms and accuses you of getting rich off them. By the time you get done paying them all off, there is nothing left for you.

You should produce instructional "how to" videos. A lot more profit, easy to market, less egos and less palms to grease.

    FROG,

Forget about Best Buy or Hollywood. It just does not work like that. Too much BS to deal with. Create a niche video to market on web sites in the form of banner ads, etc. You can make a lot of money with less headache. It's all in the marketing.

it IS very amatuerish! :) we didn't go out there with the intention of making anything more than a bit of nice footage to share between us, so we were just randomly filming while having fun. it's just a regular DV handycam, but there's a good deal of useful stuff that if compiled well enough is the sort of thing i'd want myself.

i dunno, we may or may not end up with anything useful, we'll see.

yeah i agree. the couple of people i've mentioned the DVD idea to have immediately thought i was aiming to have it on the shelves in Blockbuster or something, but i'm not interested in getting a 'publisher' for it. actually been reading a Corey Rudl's (RIP :( ) stuff and i have a lot of good ideas for how to go about it... but first things first, gotta make something!
