Hmm... 100.000 I think I won't get an Enzo or an F50 for that money And its also a little bit too less for a 360 CS. And I guess it would be very difficult to find a blue one without stripe. So I would have to repaint it if I find one. So I think I would get a nice blue 355 Spider or maybe a 360 Spider with some nice big wheels. Martin
If you insist on getting something Italian , then go for a 360 or a 575M, seriously. If not, why don't you buy an M6?? It's a very powerful car. I must admit that I hate its style and design, but at least it's way better than the ugly and bulky M5. Or better yet, why not buy a 997 Carrera S!!
I have a soft spot for the carbed 512 Boxer as well, as far as 'safe money' goes......FoH has a 1977 Black/tan, and there is a yellow/black in Florida...that one at Bobilief has sold, IIRC...definately agree the carbs make 'The Sound"!!!!!!! As far as newer cars, that'll buy a 360 Challenge all day long over here, in USA. And Martin at Cavallino Motors has the JMB 360NGT, used for only a little more! It has a very snazzy paint job, included!!! Shake the piggy bank upside down.....HARDER! Older cars willl hold value or maybe go up....new goes will predictably go down, but unique cars not so much...did you follow the Australian thread on restoring his 360NGT?? Wow!!!
Wolfgang, what do you think of this one:- http://www.autoscout.ch/AS24Web/Detail.aspx?wl=1&lng=ger&id=3374054&qs=make%3d27%26modellike%3dchallenge%26cur%3dCHF%26zipcountry%3dCH%26from%3dHome%26total%3d10&page=1&row=9# This is a Challenge Stradale that will cost you around 15k Euro more than your budget. That's not a lot for a Stradale that has only 5,000KM on the clock if you ask me.
@Martin, the 360 & spider is sadly and sorry to say so to common. @nasharty, the 575M I have never driven one....something i should do/test next spring?! BMW & Porsche....i have owned and driven so many P`s and the last one was a GT3 from a friend of mine. Great car for the track but no feelings when I open the garage and look at the car. Import from Switzerland to Germany: additional +16% tax 4% custom fee @BigTex, yes the 360CS but still very expensive (the good examples). Well the 512 BB carb; the 360 NGT is sadly not road legal for germany.
Hey wolfgang, don't start test driving cars until this summer. We can test cars together while I'm in Germany for 5 weeks
I really agree with Tina. A dino 246 would be hard to resist. Then again, a "driver" Daytona would be fantastic! One with all of the services and mechanical bits in order but with a less than perfect cosmetic condition. You can always fix the cosmetics but you could enjoy the drive in the meantime. Yeah, that would be my choice.
5 weeks in Germany? Thats a long time, hope to see & welcome you here during your stay. Enjoy & CU Wolfgang
I hope to see you as well. I'm gonna be in Schwaebisch Hall instead of Heidelberg this time..so you might be a good distance away
Not bad Augustine, i love your idea of a "driver" mechanical perfect and cosmetical needs some attention. Something to think about it - not to buy a 110% perfect car for big cash - but to get THE car for less with some work.
I am still thinking about it! I think that I know what you mean. It is a difficult decision. What do you want to do with the car?
Heidelberg - Schwäbisch Hall = 120km / 75 miles Mhmmmm....maybe on early sunday morning its a 40 minutes ride
I hope drive it. sorry wolfgang if this was asked before, but does it matter if it is a V-8 or V-12? Does it have to be a ferrari??
I want to frame it and hang it on the wall NO, DRIVE, DRIVE LIKE HELL - on the street and sometimes carefully on the track. Going on vacation with my wife and a little bit luggage, weekend trips.....at least the same like the TR.
No, it doesn`t matter if its a 6, 8, 12 cylinder and it must not be a Ferrari! Could be a Lamborghini Diablo SV, Maserati 60th, Alfa Romeo ´50-´60th......but I would prefer an italian!
