I know. But it would be my second car and I think I wouldn't care too much about how many peolple drive one :)
But I like the 355 more also I heared that maintenance is a little expensive. But I have a lot of time to think about what Ferrari I will buy :)

I think as a third car would a 512 BBi or something like that be fine. Or a Lamborghini Diablo :) (don't know what model you get for 100.000 €)

Ok! In that case vintage and race may not be an option.
    How about a 575M or a 360 F1 spider? Or the famous 512M?
Maybe a cheap Bentley Continental GT (you are getting older) :)

What about an Aston Martin? I would still seriously consider a Silver/Black 1999 Ferrari 355 F1 Spider...but that is just me :D

But those cars are probably not "wow' enough for you. The Testarossa has spoiled you. That was an original supercar in that time. There is no way that you can buy a real supercar for this money now.

I think that the 512M is the most outrageous car that you can buy for that money. It is also a rare car! The ultimate Testarossa!!!!

I talked to these guys in the past and their top of the line kit is around 40k (for the GT40). Add another 20k for a decent engine and another 20k to finish the build and you have a supercar for 100k.

And yes, I would love to drive that kind of replica.

Dunno about the Kurzheck, but the GT40 does have a small trunk for a weekend getaway.

PS: Wolfgang, you mixed up my comments: South Africa builds the best GT40 replica, the guys in Detroit build the GT40, the Kurzheck, a Lola and a P4. So the Kurzheck would not come from Southafrica.

YES! The 917 for sure - cause there is NO way to buy one, even when you are a millionar there is no one for sale!
This 917 is beside the 330 P3/4 one of the most amazing, beautiful, breathtaking cars ever built (IMO).

    Mastercard :D instead of luggage.
Just kidding; but I remember some drive outs with the FCD for a few days.
F50 & ENZO no luggage!!!!! They shipped the luggage with DHL or the wife drove with the Mercedes beside the F50.

Just talked to Fran and here is the skinny:
    - car costs $ 65k without engine or transmission (no cooler, no exhaust)
    - it uses the Porsche's earlier 69/70 suspension, which is sturdier
    - it can be titled street legal in Michigan, no idea about Germany/EU
    - it'll become available by fall 2006, currently they have the prototype doing all the tests and it is already spoken for
    - you can fit either an original 12 or any of Porsche's flat V6 into it (testing has shown that a V6 is plenty given the light weight of the car)
    - cabin space is very limited: only 32" across, so let the wife drive the Merc loaded with the luggage, also a 6 foot man would only fit in without a helmet

    @Wolfgang, :)

Actually I know of a Lamborghini Miura SV in the UK which is in pristine condition with a documented nut and bolt restoration, the car is a known prizewinner, and have been featured in several magazines!
It's a well known car with matching numbers and documented history and it's well within the budget!......and of course this 12 cylinder beast/beauty will have room for both you and Anja and your toothbrushes+Mastercard for the vacation...............do you want to know more????? ;)
BTW, The car is a lefthand drive!

    Best

    Carsten
