The "Baby Rolls", or if you can't call it that, the R-R 200EX is coming. And a little birdie told me some interesting specs on what's under the stainless bonnet. The powerplant will be an all-new sourced BMW-built but reserved for this car, turbocharged 6.6L V12 producing north of 500bhp and north of 700ft-lbs of torque. That's versus the naturally-aspirated 6.75L V12 453bhp and 531ft-lbs torque used in the larger Phantom, EWB, Drophead, and Coupe models. R-R's test mules so far have hit the 0-60 sprint (since I know a lot of owners will be doing that :) ) from 5.4 down to 5.1 seconds! From a ~5,200lb curb weight saloon, people...Production will be held under 2,500/year.

    Hmm...Tantalizing.

    Thoughts?

RR does not appeal to me, but it never really has. It seems like something for the baby boomer generation or earlier. What is the point of a 5 sec 0-60 luxury coupe?

I think it's gorgeous. I really like what RR is doing. There's a huge gap between the 7-series/S-class and the Phantom/Maybach, and with the Arnage going out of production this year, this fills the void quite nicely.

Bill, it's a sedan not a coupe. Thus the point of a 5 sec 0-60 luxury barge should become more enlightening...M-Benz AMG everything, M5, Alpina B7, S6, S10, XJR, STS-V, Quattroporte S, Flying Spur Speed, Arnage T etc...no shortage of super-fast saloons. So, even if not quite the fastest, this will be just resting comfortably at the top. :)

Exactly. Bentley, with their swan-song now of the Arnage, which I have always loved immensely, will have some big shoes to fill in their top-range sedan. Somehow, the boys at Crewe always seem to know how to fill them just right. Rumors abound of using (all kidding aside) a slightly retuned/ detuned version of the Bugatti Veyron's powerplant in the next-generation Arnage. Yowsahs!

W16 is out of consideration already.
V8 twinturbo is back, tuned even higher, alloy construction and AWD.
To be seen in Geneva most likely.
