    Let's get the ball rolling!!

    Dateline: St Pete, FL

An 18-year-old showing off a gun to friends died Wednesday night after the weapon went off, striking him in the head, police said. Alexander Xavier Shaw of St. Petersburg, FL, and some friends were on his porch when the teen took out a .38-caliber revolver.

"He told them that her carried the gun in such a manner as to keep one round out of the firing chamber to prevent an accidental discharge," police spokesman Mike Puetz said.

Shaw passed around the gun, saying it was safe. Then, apparently intent on proving that it was OK, he held the gun to his head and pulled the trigger.

I guess he didn't realize the double-action trigger rotates the cylinder one bullet over.
I think on most revolvers (like a Smth & Wesson) the cylinder turns to the left (counter-clockwise), but on the old Colt pistols I think it turns to the right (clockwise).

Never point the barrel of a gun in a direction that would cause harm if it went off. Even if you think the gun is empty.

I guess Mr Shaw has eternity to consider that.

Would probably be nice to remove the last name, it would be a shame if a family member googled his name and it took them to this site with people commenting on the "epic fail" that his death was.
