RM/Sothebys and Bonhams have already announced some great cars but perhaps the most interesting news so far came overnight. Gooding have managed to secure the Admirals famed 500 Mondial #0556/0446MD, fresh from five decades with a single family. Estimate around the $5 mil mark.

RM are offering a beautiful Maserati A6G2000 Zagato Coupe and Porsche 908 and Bonhams a fine selection of pre and post war collectibles headed by a one off Talbot-Lago and a fine Edwardian Mercedes

I visited Robert (the Admiral) on a visit to Santa Fe last year. That Mondial has two Weber carburetors, S/N #2 and #3. S/N #1 is in the Weber museum.

Sorry to hear that he decided to sell it, he loved that car.

Are we talking $10 million "extremely significant" or $30 million+ "extremely significant?"

RM can already add the Cassini collection Packard that won Pebble approx. 5 years ago.... Plus other cars from his collection. I wonder if there will be something ex Bardinon? Whatever it is I will be keeping a close watch on it.

The Ford GT40 Mark II #1016 will be offered at RM Sothebys. No information yet although this is the example offered by Kidston last year, is one of just eight Mark IIs with the 427cui V8 and the first to be offered for public sale since 1990 when Christies offered #1015. Will sell somewhere in the teens, likely high teens.

Estimate is $9 million - $12 million. I'd guess $10 million would be about right.

I wonder what that estimate says about Kidston who tried to sell it for some months in late 2017?

Perhaps his lack of a sale led to the estimate.

Yes exactly, it does seem like a pretty low estimate but I am 100% sure it will be directly influenced by the offers Kidston received for it.

RM will sell 0327 AL (375 America Vignale) in Monterey. It was shown at the Rodeo Drive Concours this weekend.

People in the above post have suggested that RM has a 250 GTO for Pebble Beach.

    Hmmm........

Doesn't sound like a 250 GTO to me but possibly another V12 Ferrari of the same era? The GTO sounds really raspy off-throttle. Sounds a lot more like a 250 LM to me but its all guessing at this point.

I started a thread about that car in American Muscle. It was third place in the Ford 1-2-3 that year. I would think it would break $10M, but I don't know the market that well. From the photos I've seen, it looks preternaturally good. Way better than it must have been back in the day. Perhaps over restored.
