And what's sad is, nobody here is shocked. THAT is how far NU has fallen. Which was stupid. Not waiting until Oct. 2 cost them 7.5 million dollars. Nothing was going to change between now and Oct. 2... Frost was not the entire problem - bringing in his ****ty DC and assistants are what did this. NOW they need to find a HC and new staff that can recruit - and coach. The next issue will be a bunch of players will now go into the transfer portal, NU won't even SNIFF a decent 'winning' program for another five years. If you saw the game, it was easy to see the crappy body language the players exhibited - in the FIRST QUARTER!
UNT won their game yesterday, to go 2-1 and 1-0 in conference. But honestly we're shaky at best, and I think we're lucky to win 6 and get to the WhoCares Bowl this year. My secondary team is Texas A&M, and the less said about that game the better My tertiary team is whomever is playing against Alabama.
What the heck happened to Oklahoma? I know they lost their QB, but that shouldn't totally account for the magnitude of their defeat. Do they miss Lincoln Riley that much?
'You can never go home again'. Nebraska brought Scott Frost back, Oklahoma brought Brent Venables back, coincidence? I am not sure what happened to OU, but I DO know I'd suspend that moron that hit the OU QB for the rest of the season, that was as blatant a hit as I have ever seen. That TCU QB - Duggan - played his HS ball right across the river from me in Council Bluffs Iowa. A lot of schools wanted him, glad he didn't stick around here, I cannot think of the last time a QB did exceptionally well at NU, ISU or Iowa U. Speaking of 'What happened?', WTH happened to Washington? and Georgia isn't looking so hot but it's early.
The bottom line was that 'Bama couldn't stop Tennessee's passing game. They couldn't pressure Hooker and the DB's couldn't cover their receivers. It's unusual to see a Saban team so woefully weak in any area like that.
Watching Alabama play yesterday for the first time this season (I live in Big Ten country), is it typical for them to commit so many penalties? Looking back, it seems to me that, w/o Alabama's many self-inflicted penalty yards, they likely would have won the game easily. Or was it thought to simply be the case of "bad refs"?
I love the Aggies. I told many a fan Jimbo was going to **** them up the ass. Poor Aggies. Sung by many UH fans as they walked out the door after kicking Aggie ass. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Not sure about 'bad refs', but 17 penalties AND 4 turnovers - and Tennessee barely won. It might be a record number of penalties in one game for Bama, I am sure it is a record under Saban's tenure. To me, there are three teams in college football, a large gap, then everyone else.
What is it with these Oklahoma teams? When they get upset, they REALLY get upset! First Oklahoma, as a favorite, loses 49-0 to Texas, now Oklahoma State, as a favorite, loses 48-0 to Kansas State! What the heck is going on here?
Ya beat me to it, I was going to ask the SAME thing. I was not expecting Tennessee to slaughter Kentucky, either. WIn, yes, but kill, no. Nor was I expecting Wake Forest to get killed. Arizona played USC tough, and Cincy losing to UDF surprised me a little bit. Missouri over SC was a surprise... I also expected texas A&M to win handily, not the close game it was...
I figured Georgia would beat Tennessee on the basis of more big-game experience, home-field advantage and the fact that a good defense will often beat a good offense. But Clemson getting slaughtered by Notre Dame? Another unexpected blowour.
