Gorgeous car, in and out, it's refreshing to see a car well specd amongst so many poor taste, some people want to do do much that they end up destroying the car! Your car looks 100K more expensive that those stripe things with mouths and other stuff painted! Congrats!
Thank you for your kind words! I wanted to keep it understated and importantly to match my other “Dino”

My mother used to tell me that if I didn't have anything good to say, I shouldn't say anything at all, but I can't help thinking that this is awful colour for a Ferrari...

Stunner. I keep going back and forth on the black roof. Seems like when the roof is down would be silly to have just a black windshield? Leaning towards without on a blue car. But on this red one looks great.
It is the same with me. It looks nice, but there is one mayor thing about the black roof: Everybody tells me, that the black roof helps to make the car look lower. Thats correct with big cars, like Portofino or California and even 458/488/F8. The 296 is very very low !! And a little shorter than those cars. Everybody says that it is a smaller Ferrari. But in fact it isn't small, it is low and it is decently wide. With the black roof you get the feeling of an even smaller car and the main body color is reduced in a large amount. Yesterday I was at my dealer and tried to finalize my configuration (which failed because of IT problems) I did a test drive in a Rosso Corsa AF 296GTS. From inside the building looking on the parking space where it was parked I thought: what a nice compact car. After the test drive I parked the car next to a 488 GTB and a Pista. Compared to these cars, it isn't any smaller in size. So in my personal opinion the black roof has the opposite effect, makes the cars look not lower but smaller... But please don't be offended , it is just my personal opinion Comparison (Source: Wiki) 296GTB: L: 4565 mm W: 1958 mm H: 1187–1191 mm 488GTB: L: 4568 mm W: 1952 mm H: 1213 mm
Good insight on the size perspective. For the 458, the black roof looks great on the Italia (looks like a mini-LaFerrari)… but the panels don’t line up for it on the Spiders… I hate the little notch created by roof canopy that doesn’t like up with the window trim, and there is nowhere to end the black on the rear deck. This issue is solved on the 296 at least. The window trim curves up with the roof canopy on the GTS just as clean as the GTB. Also, I think if you’re doing black roof you also have to do black wheels so it matches.
I think the choice is easy. You get a painted roof and then wrap it black or paint it in peelable paint. You won’t be able to do it the other way around if you order it in black.
And, not to forget, you save about 5.500€ for the factory-black-roof. This is what I find the most anoying issue. If you choose a color like Viola Hongkong for 25.000€, then the option black roof should be free of charge, if you chose any standard color without an extra fee, then I agree with an extra price. Am I stingy ?

Gents Can anyone hep ? What colour do we think this is below, agonising over the colour choice for my GTS, keep going round and round and think I want a dark metallic, to try and integrate the additional black buttress on the rear deck which for me along with the more rounded A-pillar at the intersection with the roof, significantly smooths the roof line over the GTB (removes that top hat look, which I have never been a fan of), and simply looks miles better, for this reason I will go solid colour and avoid the black bicolour option, I keep looking at reds, Rubhino, Coburn, really like the Opaque Grigio but find myself coming back to the blues, electrico or TDF, what colour do we think this is, this is from Carwow you tube video. I suspect we are not seeing the true colour, and looking through a camera filter. Any coaching guidance most welcome. PS also really like Shmee’s design in Rosso Dino, I have a Pista in Rosso Dino and simply love it….but for the reasons I state above, doesn’t work for what I am trying to achieve with the GTS Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
