I spec'd mine without carbon exterior as well. Although it looks good the value proposition is tough IMO
@F2003-GA and @jm2 Thank you for your honest explainations. I struggle with my decision. I tend to go for either Rosso Corsa, complete exterior carbon fibre and hand painted shields or a different metallic/mica red (Rosso Magma/Rosso Maranello), but I would than cancel the carbon fibre (or at least the rear diffusor) and/or painted shields. Just to keep the total amount of money to spend in a "decent" region. I know, if you pay almost 400 K€, then you can go for 25 K more for the paint. But my money isn't endless and it feels difficult to justify this emotionaly. All my other fun cars had been somewhere around 300 K, the step from a decent specced 488GTB to the 296GTS is a financially a mayor one. What is your opinion about this ?
My spec GTS Atelier came out to $485K USD that Includes $33K for Verde Francesca paint I stayed away from a lot of tempting options. Be in your comfort zone on what you spend on a car 400K Euro soundly like a well equiped car to me good luck and take care
i dont see the value in the hand painted shields. and they really are not hand painted. if you watch the video they are stenciled, which is not very difficult to do. i would rather see actual hand painting by an artist that shows brush strokes. that way each shield would be unique.
With "hand painted" I meant that they are airbrushed instead of a enamel shield. But I understand your point. I do not like the pale/different yellow color of the shields, thats why I tended to go for the airbrushed ones.
Thank you for your personal opinion. I guess the solution is not to get yellow calipers and center caps with the "standard" shields. Then it is not a color missmatch issue.
Yea I do agree the wheel cap logos, standard shields, and standard yellow calipers should all be the same shade of yellow.
Having owned 4 modern V8 yellow Ferraris with another on the way, I learned this lesson. The shield on the hood, shields on the fenders, center wheel caps, calipers, tach, steering wheel center, and the body color are varying shades, values of yellow. Just the way it is. So one deals with it, or you don't. I stopped getting yellow calipers and switched to black. I don't think Mr. Ferrari would have cared. The car compensates in other ways to negate the mismatched parts & pieces. Not an excuse, just reality. I tell people if that really bothers them, buy a Toyota/Lexus. Problem solved.
I do understand what you mean. BUT with yellow I would be fine. One of my thoughts has been Giallo triplo strato and even though there are so many different yellows, I wouldn't care. It is just with the main color red I do not like the different shades of yellow. So maybe I should use your advice and chose the best red: Giallo
96GTS = Viper i should have changed it to 365GTB4 when i bought the Daytona. 296 not on my purchase list yet unfortunately. would love an XX model some day.
