Just come back from a 140 mile trip on clear motorway roads ..............my 1995 F355 has hyperflow cats and a Larini exhaust with capristo bypass valve...........it is also a GTS so took the roof off..........the car really is so amazing...............hit 135 mph at times and cruised at 120............car so silky smooth on the road....steering such a joy.......that engine..............4500 revs in 6th or 7000 in 4th what a masterpiece..........the sound thru tunnels..........ear splitting at 8000 revs.........just addictive............the smell of the leather.......the smell of the mechanicals...........the touch of the leather...........the look of the car............other cars just getting out of the way as you tear past........the way the suspension handles changes in camber at speed............so silky........not one rattle......car is so solid.............I'm telling you all........and I have owned plenty of supercars..... .the 355 really is a masterpiece

The perfect day in the perfect car! Interesting...you have a left-hand drive car. It must be weird driving.

The 355 is a masterpiece......a work of engineering art. An outstanding accomplishment.

I can feel your joy. I have a rosso corsa/tan 1997 Berlinetta that also has a Larini exhaust that I've been driving a lot this summer. I actually had a choice between Larini, Tubi, and Capristo exhausts, and chose the Larini purely based on it's amazing sound. I really think that driving this car spirited, is the best that it can get. I drive around with about 10 different F-car/exotics (the only F355) and have received several complements on the sound of the exaust. These cars are the best! I really do feel lucky.

Sorry. The car in the picture seemed to be a left-hand drive. Either I'm blind or it's not your car. Anyway, I'm glad you had a great time........ :)

    thanks for all comments..............

my car is very rare.......... a 1995 GTS M2.7 in Swaters Blue with ivory leather and dark blue carpets..................remade headers by QV London, hyperflow cats and that Larini exhaust and capristo bypass valve, Hill Engineering cam tensioner bearings, carbon fibre rear diffusers and clutch cooling cover, replaced power steering tank (no more leaks).....all coolant hoses in silicon, etc.................

You know that power sound from my car when you change from about 4000 revs in 5th at 100mph to 6th ..........that moment when the transmission is disconnected from the crank there is a sound and feeling of immense guttaral intake power coming from god knows where and then when 6th is engaged and the throttles opened the surge of smooth creamy rocket like power is just so ...........well you all know what I mean!!!!!.......suddenly you're at 140 mph and 100 seems so slow.........it really is another world.............I wonder if a 360/430 has the same characteristics or the 348.............what do you all think???

How do you balance the throttle bodies once the meters are hooked up? Can you get the required access to the air screws by simply lifting up the coolant overflow tank? Looks like a pain in the rear...

By the way, did you find that they were off before you started work on them or was it a matter of balancing simply because you took the TB's apart for cleaning?

    thanks

yes it is possible to turn the air screws once the coolant tank is placed out the way.....hurts your back but is doable...................the balancing was done because I renewed all the air screws.................they were black and pretty scummy................car runs better for sure....idols a bit steadier........... but would not say it was really worth all the effort...........cambelt change soon.........I will have all the terminals and protectors replaced with Dave Helms's gold connectors and boots...........my mechanic can do that one.........there's about 70 individual connectors to be attached!!!!!!!.................I have also replaced the throttle potentiometers........and had them adjusted as best as possible...............this improved the hesitation i felt when coming right off the throttle and then slowly opening it up.........might have to readjust this again as the delivery of power at low revs is not completely smooth.........or this might just be a feature of the car

    Thanks for the info.

You've got those TB's so pretty looking it's a shame they'll be hidden during normal operation.

I don't know what part of Spain you are but I am currently in Marbella (Puerto Banus) and I've never seen some many Ferraris, Lambos, Bentleys, etc. all in a couple of hours. Place is just amazing for any car buff. I didn't see any 355s, I guess in this part of Spain everything is newer.
