Hi Ruben. No I had it made. Can’t win any Concourses as it is no longer original any more, but who cares. I like it every time I open the boot.... And most everybody comment on it that it looks really good so I am fine with it.
I had it made in Norway by a local shop. It was not really a difficult job, but we had to vectorize the logo on the front of the owners manual with the correct 550 maranello logo. Then make an embroidery of it, and then sew the quit pattern around it to make it looks like it stands out. I don’t remember if we glued it to the old cover, but I think we did.... It also has some padding to create that 3D look. Had a few of the fasteners intact, and had to glue it on, as the original fasteners no longer are visible and it was a little bit of trail and error. Now I sit in the plane back to Norway while the 550 rest in its garage in Nice. I attach a few more pics.... Today the blue baby occupied one of the world’s most expencive parkinglots, because I currently sell charter trips with an Azimut 86S yacht located at the center T-pier in Monaco.... it does 42 knots with 2x MTU V16 twin turbo diesels coupled to Arneson surface drives!! Life is good.
