Like its 1:1 partner, these are rare. There's the old Burago and Maisto models and new HW versions - all are rather less complete as befits the ultimate vintage Ferrari. Exoto are also bringing out a top line 1:18 model (along with the Enzo). But on the 1:12 scale, it seems there's a fair few to choose from. http://www.diecastxchange.com/forum1/index.php?showtopic=11636 http://www.diecastxchange.com/forum1/index.php?showtopic=7796 Such incredibly beautiful models. T.
There are a few 1/43 out there, too. Bang made three, and I think there may be a BBR. The HW 1/18 isn't too bad, either. There was a post a while back of a yellow 1/12 or 1/10 that was great. I have the 1/24 Maisto, that I found at KB Toys a few years ago.
BBR definitely made them and still do I think. Revell made a GTO in several versions and colours in 1/12 but as far as I know don't make them anymore. However, I see them from time to time on Ebay
Sorry Chris, wish I could help but I have only 1 Red one. I have a green one as well. The blue/white was a farily recent re-issue I believe.
I don't know much about scale models, but I saw this GTO from "Western Formula" in 1/24 scale in my Danhausen catalog from 1988.
There have been literally hundreds of GTO models in both kit and assembled form; especially in 1/43rd scale. There also have been any number of diecats in 1/43rd and other scales. I don't remember offhand who made a 1/43rd of the '62 prototype without the rear spoiler, but I'm certain someone did. I consider the version with the spoiler a '63 and not a '62. The '64 car looks altogether different.
http://www.diecastxchange.com/forum...showtopic=11636 That's mine! Here are some other picture of it with those new rims i was talking about!
Thought it may be newer. Any chance of posting pics of the green one. I really like that color on the GTO (assuming its the dark green one and not the lime green one in japan) Thanks Chris
Beautiful in red - I have a yellow 1/2 Revell that I got in Germany years ago and would love to add those wheels. Couldn't get the link to work, but if you know where I could get a set, that would be great! Again, beautiful car. best rt
The link is at the top of this page I can't tell you were you could get those wheels. I bought them here in Holland from someone who had one set! But i don't know a shop who sels it...
Oh, you mean the link at the beginning of the thread - another board to join... The wheels do look great - even better than the Revell wheels which are not to bad. Have been looking for a set of better 1/18 wire wheels for my Bburago cars, and have only found one French company that no one stocks. Will look around for 1/12 now. Many thanks! rt
Sure Chris, I'll try and post a pic tonight. I think it's the dark green one. I haven't taken it out of the box in a long time.
Sorry for the late post of the 1/12 green GTO by Revell Chris. Here it is: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here's mine. I "acquired" it at a party one night. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8650 Since that picture was taken my collection has grown so much that every single shelf on that mantle is taken up my Ferraris. I need to get a display case.
A compy in Germany "Autograph" is starting to make a detail set for the Revell 1:12 scale GTO. The first item released is a wheel set. http://www.autographmodel.de/Englisch/Englisch.htm His detail set for the 1:8 Pocher F-40 is a piece of modeling art - I imagine the GTO stuff will be equally awesome.
In two scales 1/24 and 1/18th. I did a little detailing on both and customized the markings of the 24th car in the livery of the Ferrari France car that ran @ LeMans in '63 or '64. IIRC the Revell model used the same dies as the old Bburago kit of the same car, which is to say it's not very sophisticated. For at least the last couple of years Exoto has promised a 250GTO in 1/18th but has never come up with it. My winter '04 Catalog sez it's due "late 2004" @ $239.95. Don't hold your breath, I haven't been able to cofirm this @ their website or anywhere else.
The stuff from Autograph is VERY expensive, and you have to be a rather skilled modeller to be able to put the wheels together properly.
I just received a response from autograph. The wheels are NOT availbale assembled. You have to put them together yourself. They are beautiful, but this is not a task for a beginning modeler.
Hi, Thats my thread! I actually have the car for sale now. Its a red 1:12 GTO by Revell, mint condition. Asking 100 euro.
If you want to throw some serious money around (approx. $8500 USD), CollectorsStudio has a 1/5 250 GTO (pictured). As for Exoto, don't hold your breath. Unless I somehow missed it, the F40 LM that they promised has disappeared from their "future releases" section. I am now waiting/hoping for their 250 SWB.
