Enrico sent me an email with this link and I think it's well worth putting up here.

Biturbos got me started in the exotic car hoo haw. I remember there being plenty of discussion at the time about whether it was a real Italian exotic or not. That's about the time I joined the Maserati club MCI and several members who also owned older GT cars Maserati and Ferrari, Lamborghini too bought these. Some had terrible luck (well documented) and others loved the car as I do. But they all said it did have that something which made it exotic and I think this story by Harry Metcalfe highlights what the cars Maserati was producing back then were all about. I can say the very same things about my little 84 that he loves about this Shamal, save the styling ... ;)

He doesn't dwell on some of the short comings so many love to harp about and truth be told you can do the very same thing about Ferrari, Lamboghini and other Maseratis from that era and earlier. I own some of those as well.

He enjoys the car instead! They do make wonderful little GT cars and I've been all over this country in mine. I've never been stranded with a breakdown on any one of those trips either. Always traveled in terrific comfort too. They were fast as hell in their day too.

    So enjoy.

I do really like the Shamals, such a cool shape very much of the era.
