Saw a black Aston Martin on Hwy 2 south at around 6:00PM. Couldn't tell what kind. How do you decifer the difference from the side or rear end whether it's a DB9 or AM V8?
V8 Vantage would be shorter and look "punchier". It's hard to describe, but it looks a lot more like the steel was stretched tightly over the frame. DB9 looks more elegant and longer. Maybe I'm just an Aston nerd? --- Is the Saturday event by invitation only, or are (responsible) teenagers (like myself - sorry... can't be modest here) allowed?
Thanks "Aston Nerd". It seemed to be longer than the V8 but I can never be too sure with those DB9's especially when they're flying down the highway in the opposite direction and I happen to miss the front end.

Auto Show is in town. Ferrari of Alberta has a display down there. Yellow F430 spider Red F430 Coupe 99 F1 car. Maserati is down there too, with a QP and a Gran Turismo (It was freaking beautiful). Bentley has a full representation, Continental Coupe, Convertible, Flying Spur, GT Speed. Aston has an AMV8 Roadster, DB9 Volante. Lamborghini of Vancouver (I think that is who is down there) has an orange Gallardo Spider and a grey LP640 coupe (with yellow seats haha). Four Elise/Exige are down there too. So a pretty good show of exotics. To get to the Ferrari thing, you have to walk along the sort of outside part of the Corral. Its in the Bosyce theatre.
You put that in there just for me didn't you Dino? I guess now is my opportunity to learn the subtle differences b/w the two cars.
The car show was weak this year IMHO. Went last night........liked the "Bullit" Mustang, the Aston Martins, Gallardo cabrio and the light blue Bentley convertible with cream leather..........a pimpin' ride !!
Shop. I was also unimpressed with the AutoShow. Nothing too exciting... the only thing that got my heart racing was when a child almost knocked over part of the Davenport display into the Enzo! Also saw an equally young kid (4 yo) scractching his back in the Porsche display. Thing is, he was wearing a ski jacket and used the 997 Turbo as a scratching post in front of his seemingly retarded parents. Idiots. The (smokin' hot) Porsche sales-ladies didn't seem to care though. Idiots.
I liked the Schumacher '99 F1. I put my fingers on the rear tire and with little effort was able to move the whole car back and forth, man that car has almost 0 rolling resistance! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah I talked to the VP of the Alberta dealership and he said the car belongs to a friend of his. Its the actual '99 car and still has the engine in it. It was purchased on the conditions that it won't be driven, but he said that they'll have it at the shop for a while and start it up sometime. You can see some of the engine, and some wear on the brakes? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very cool. I heard that it was purchased by the gent who has the airplane hanger full of cars in Springbank.
